I've just heard Junior Witter being accused of greed in relation to the quote below. I'm sure the quote Ray Hatton attributes to Witter, "I'll fight for nothing" was made recently and not when this £100,000 offer ws made. Hatton's lawyer, Gareth Williams made a lowball offer of a £100,000 purse, which Hennessy predictably turned down. "All right," said Ray Hatton, "it was an insult and I hold my hands up, but it was more money than he'd had for any of his fights before. If you're making statements like, 'I'll fight somebody for nothing' and then you offer somebody, even though it is an insult, bigger money than he's ever fought for before and they turn it down blank and want 30 percent of everything, let's have it right."" Was it so bad for Junior Witter (WBC Champion) to want 30% of a purse when putting his title on the line? If 30% is greed, what should he have asked for? 10% or 20%?

30% was the mininum he was allowed. Why the fight couldnt happen for Witter's belt. Hatton camp did lie saying he was earning the biggest payday when he was going to recieve over £200k for the Hopkins fight at the time.
WHAT WITTER DESREVES IS A SMALLER PERCENTAGE OF THE PURSE because he brings less to the table - but he is a WBC champion - and he is giving Hatton a chance to win a belt he has never wan so I would say all things considered 70/30 split in Hattons favour is fair. Why not give Witter a good pay day - so what if it is a 1000 times more than what he has earned before - Hatton has been fortunate enough to earn lots and been given a career high day against Mayweather so why shouldnt Witter earn a good living too. to answer the thread question HATTON IS GREEDY / WITTER IS HUNGRY
if witter fought he would win he would have taken the money. And if he beat hatton he'd have more bigger fights
Ray Hatton's actually lying here, what happened was the lawyer said on the phone while in Vegas 'the most we'd ever pay Witter for a fight with Hatton is £100k because hes a nobody', it wasn't an offer it was a statement, Hennessey replied 'this is and insult'. After Ray Hatton made this claim of the supposed, Witter said 'fine I'll fight for £100k, when are we fighting?' The Hatton's suddenly went quite on the matter

Ray Hatton has no intention of letting his son in the ring with Witter. Lets get this right Ray Hatton is the one more concerned about the money and success than Ricky is. Frank Warren stated not long ago that the reason the fight with Witter never happened was the main reason was RAY HATTON DID NOT WANT IT. Thats not me specualting that is straight from the horses mouth MR FRANK WARREN. Ray Hatton knew how much money Ricky was getting paid for the Mayweather fighter before Ricky did.
