I think there was an understanding that Wlad went hard in sparring. Especially after Manny Steward took over as head coach. If you remember, Lewis also went hard too.

Plus Wlad just had that kind of hand speed and power. You do enough rounds with him, you’re gonna hit the deck at some point. Lol

From what I’ve heard though, Usyk never even came close to being dropped! Which is why after hearing that… I KNEW he’d be ok taking shots from ANYBODY at heavyweight.

You very rarely see 230lb world class boxers knocked back that much after a shot. Lewis hit Ray with his best right hands and never did that.

    Awful list.

Wilder is the most explosive HW of all time. Without question. Different types of power. For a 215 pound man...yes by far the most powerful.

Looks like it’s mainly a battle between Forman and WLadimir

Wladimir had speed and immense strength behind his punches…..
Foreman was less speed, but his brutal power sure delivered the goods

I’d pick Wlad as the hardest puncher

Just check their respective KO percentage ratios above certain weights... Wlad blows him out completely...

41 yeah but coming off good wins and had shown no signs of being past it. Was Mercer in his prime? No. But he wasn’t far past it.

He kept boxing 6 years after WK, only Briggs stopping him. He was a bit over the hill vs WK but not by much.

Wilder by a margin for single punch (the right). Harder if we look at the whole arsenal.

    Lol Exactly

Yep. And it can actually be argued Wlad took even more out of him before the Briggs fight (Mercer was actually holding his own in that one) because the beating Wlad gave Ray is the kind that changes any fighter. You don’t take those kind of H-bombs for 6 rounds and remain the same guy.

That lead left hook he dropped Ray with in the 1st round was NASTY. So quick.

Wlad is the most defensive puncher of them all, he almost never went in full power mode. Imo he Is the greatest heavyweight puncher of all time. Even with this defensive style he completely terrified opponents and knocked alot of very durable guys out.

Foreman is the most physical gifted puncher with brute force

Tyson was the best combination puncher with speed and accuracy

Wilder has the fastest right hand with great power and accuracy.

But for me if you put everything together it's wladi boy

TYSON: People often go on the tact that Mike Tyson’s speed, accuracy and punching in combination provided for the greatest effect in terms of punching.

That reasoning is more than valid but it shouldn’t obscure or ignore the fact that Mike did have devastating single shot power - as upheld in a number of his fights. Not the greatest single punch hitter but definitely part of the conversation.

JOE LOUIS. I view Joe in similar fashion. Speed, accuracy, punching in textbook combination - all lent to the overall effect.

But, Joe could still hit extremely hard per single shot. This was more than apparent when facing some bigger, slower guys - the likes of Carnera, the Baer bros and Simon.

The impact force of each and every punch on those guys was stunningly apparent, Joe being truly able to set himself and punch with 110% conviction.

The likes of smaller, more mobile guys like Conn, were naturally that much harder to nail cleanly.

If Louis was around today I truly believe many would. be surprised as to how easily the Bomber could tag and hurt a lot of these naturally slower behemoths.

Some of the behemoths may be fast for their size but they’re certainly not fast absolute.
