No... not everyone has the same perspective of him ...

Just because you are old , doesn't mean you speak for everyone ... growing up in a white hillbilly area , I am sure you were surrounded people who hated him

    Haha, WTF?

Lionel Rose, aren't you the poster who started a thread on Ali being overrated and some sort of devil incarnate because of some of the things he would say and how he was with women because of his cheating and how he talked down to some redneck chick who tried to give him ****?

Yet he you are putting Tyson up as some sort of example after he was responsible for the most disgraceful actions seen not only outside the ring, but in it too. Are you kidding? Have you seen some of things he's said to women reporters? **** he got locked up for **** and said the ***** deserved it lol. You're some freakin hypocrite.

Anyway, Ali is the most charismatic, and by far. He's probably the most charismatic athete all-time, as some one else has pointed out. He's arguably the most recognisable face in the world, everywhere he goes people adore him. And people from all walks of life. No other person could've stood up and said and done what he did in such racist and tense times and come out of it as beloved as he has become. He is one of a kind, easily the most entertaining personality boxing has ever seen.

Id go with Duran! He is a boxing Icon ! The media still flocks to him when hes around knowing that the need a translator(hes bullshitting LOL he knows englishLOL)

    Obviously Ali is #!

As far as Oscar.........Well ? He is a worldwide known fighter so obviously he has to be a charismatic guy?? Although im a big Oscar fan, I can tell you this ! About 40% of the Mexican fans and Mex/Am fans to this day dont like Oscar. As for me Im a big OscarFan hes almost like a hometown guy( i grew up only10 minute drive from ELA) And i dont understand the hate for him. I actually get bashed in a kiddingly way from my "own family" for being a Oscar fan, and Half of these MOFs are from ELA???????? Talk about abandoning your Homeboy! Well at least the ladies got me back when im defending ODLh...LOL At least Oscar has crossed over and AMERICA loves him more than even the Latino community.

To be honest I have been saying Ali was number one but I think Joe Louis is a close number 2. Especially the Schmelling rematch. I can remember the cartoon with the two fighters with the planet watching them. Joe Louis was huge he was god like until Ali. Tyson was just a KO machine that everybody was intrigued by but alot of people hated him too. He was not charismatic just very interesting. Jack Johnson for the black community was extremely influential. De La Hoya is not influential or at least anymore. Being a rich guy wit ha promotional company is not charismatic its just power and influence. Arguello, Duran, and Chavez were huge national icons
