i think its harry greb. bro i read a thread on this website saying he would have beaten robinson h2h. there's not even any footage of greb to even make that a valid or a reasonable speculation. "he was too fast" "he was too skilled" is that what u guys READ about him? im done :patsch:rofl:roll:

who else is heavily overrated for no valid reason?

That title can be any number of people. As much as I like Roberto Duran he does seem to get tons of appraisal as well as a lot of get out of jail free cards for some of his less than flattering losses.

I think on the whole, most fighters are rated quite fairly on this site. Their accomplishments are commended but constructive criticism is also doled out. We're a pretty knowlegeable bunch, really. One or two trolls of course but that's all par for the course.

the greb vs robinson thread is completely unreasonable... have u read what people were posting? it's lunacy. there's no footage of him at all. u can't speculation someone u have never seen. they base their speculations on what they have read even though news clippings about him were made in his era. bottom line is his era was all offense and little defense and technique. i made that conclusion from watching fights from the early 1900s. its crazy

So what do you have to say about Jack Johnson who still to this day is considered a defensive master, we can speculate because of the results Greb achieved.

Guys like Mike Gibbons, Jeff Smith, Battling Levinsky, Augie Ratner, Tommy Loughran, Tommy Gibbons, Mike McTigue, etc were all offense???

Boy Im sure glad to hear Gene Tunney was all offense, imagine all of those nasty things they said about his bland style being untrue all of these years. Now Ill have to go watch him now that I know he was another Mike Tyson.

no he is not.... he was good for his era, would have jack johnson been good in ali's era(era of the heavyweight) FCK NO, he was too sloppy, compare the fighters in ali's era and compare the fighters from jack johnson's era, the fighters from ali's era looked so much more balanced and more disciplined, better footwork everything seemed a little more whats the word ADVANCED. i don't understand the the overratedness(that's not even a word) of the past fighters, but they paved the way so i respect them but i dont fall under the impression that past fighters did anything better, they were tougher yes, but not more skilled.............. HELL NO :verysad

Jack Johnson would be a problem in any era with his ability to minimize the action, pot shot, and strength. I also dont see where his balance is bad. He suffered one KD in all of the footage we have of him (I believe the Ketchel KD was fake as did most who witnessed it at the time).
