obviously but its the only thing he can do, like Bivol is a great out-boxer but all he can do is box on the outside like roman can only pressure.
Fury has amazing skills for a big man. And BJ Saunders' performance vs Lemeiux was one of the most beautiful boxing displays I've seen.
I don't care how little he is, he had 3 of the belts and was clearly big enough for the division. Injuries aren't excuses. He couldn't beat Lopez when it counted.
Concur. I voted Loma just ahead of Usyk. I can flip those two names though. There's an artistry to skill as well as functionality. Ward, for example, was incredibly effective in delivering his craft - and he was damned skilful at what he did - but was rarely described as a skilful fighter because he was all function over form. Usyk's skills are slightly more functional than Loma's (and more subtle maybe), Loma's more flamboyant. Usyk's a better fighter but Loma is more skilful. I think it's a beauty in the eye of the beholder thing...
He can fight outside, otherwise he wouldn't be able to get inside. Bivol, though, doesn't have fight inside to get outside. At least most of the time.
Why? Look at the stuff he done in his last fight, he was off-colour v Lopez and wasn`t feinting etc. He`s a hell of a boxer.
He's good yeah. But this thread isn't about good. It's about the best. And he clearly isn't the best.
He holds and headlocks too much, and looked fat and sluggish in his last fight, he almost got knocked out, Loma is far better defensively than Fury and he holds a lot less.
If he was the best, he wouldn't have lost to Lopez. No one has Loma P4P number 1 because he isn't the best fighter in the world today.
Loma lost twice. Once because he forgot to throw punches. Fury would rather get knocked spark out than coast to a points loss.
