That AND the majority of those same people who gripes about Wlads clinching also call Ali “THE GREATEST!” Clinching was a big part of Ali’s game.

No champ has ever clinched as much as seventies Ali. He would push the ref away and latch back on.

Roy and Marciano are the only ones on this list that don't get credit for being good boxers

    There's a difference between clinching & clutching.

Ali (who admittedly did clinch too much), would just calmly grab a dude around the neck and get a breather, and then resume whuppin that ass. Wlad, on the other hand, would clutch and clutch desperately, looking apprehensive and as if he were going to s*** himself.

The worst part is that Wlad usually looked like a giant Greek god statue fighting a middleweight, compared to his opponents.

I voted Young Corbett III just because I don't see much discussion about him from the old heads.

Ali would literally manhandle the ref and refuse to let go of his opponent. You obviously look through one sided glasses. BTW, Ali was much bigger than most of his opponents too. 6'3" 220 lbs was huge back then.

First of all I said Ali clinched too much, don't you Ali-haters read entire sentences?

Also, I have literally never read a statement by anyone, that Ali 'manhandled' referees. First time I've heard that one.

Still, no getting around Wlad crapping his pants whenever someone got aggressive. Don't you agree he looked a frightened schoolboy, despite being a huge, muscular hulk?
