    Just watched Katsidis vs Amonsot since a couple of people put a word in for Katsidis. It wasn't as good as advertised. It had good action in spots, 2 knock downs, and some great cuts but it didn't have the sustained action of a Salido, Gatti, Chacon, Saad Muhammad type fight. Plus, the quality of the fighters was a little lower. The Earl and Marquez fights were way better in terms of action.

    In Jin Chi was pretty good for a non stop pressure fighter prone to action fights. His bouts with Michael Brodie and Erik Morales were pretty good.

    I've heard that Jorge Arce and Israel Vazquez were in plenty of wars too but I haven't watched enough of them. The Vazquez vs Marquez series was even better than the Gatti vs Ward trilogy though.

    Not in terms of achievement, but his fight against Granados and his recent fight against Cardoza were both really exciting fights too. He's vulnerable, capable of boxing pretty well (though gets dragged into wars way too easily) and seems to have great heart too. Won't ever be a world champion imo but I'm always keen to watch him

    I think he has an upset 'draw' with Francisco Vargas, too. Vargas was a very good fighter but the three brutal fights just ended his prime.
    There's no shame in losing to Mikey Garcia, Gamboa (both at 126 to that matter) and prime ATG Marquez.
    Juan Manuel Marquez is an ATG, Salido won 5-1 in the last 6 rounds having adapted to JMM. It was a 7-5 fight. JMM was peak at 126.
    Salido was starting to come back into the fight against Mikey, like he always does against his opposition (Salido's a notoriously slow starter) but the fight was halted when Mikey didn't want to continue with his broken nose.
    Prime Gamboa is prime Gamboa, he was just a different animal and Salido still gave him a tough fight and dropped him.

    The thing I appreciate about Salido then is that he's a cerebral fighter who knows how to fight dirty, not just his warrior style and resilience. He's the one fighter who can get dropped a number of times and keep coming.
    I truly believe Salido-Kokietgym was FOTY too. It's essentially 4 back-to-back FOTY fights after coming off an upset victory against Loma.

    Gatti has made HOF for his warrior mentality in the ring and giving us some of the best fights. I believe Salido should, too. He turned pro when he was a kid, was knocked out left right and centre and should really have been done by the time he was 30 tops. He's on the most successful run of his career.

    There is only one GATTI. There is a reason he got in the hall of fame and it really wasn't his boxing skills. Those two don't really come close.
