Postol just got dropped heavily by some obscure prospect from Uzbekistan. He was on very wobbly legs when he got back up and was lucky to survive the round. He came within a whisker of getting KTFO by a 14 fight novice who'd fought nothing but a bunch of stiffs. 14-11-0 14-10-0 0-1-0 3-12-0 0-0-0 6-9-0 6-4-0 3-6-0 7-6-2 0-0-0 0-1-0 0-0-0 0-0-0 0-4-0 That's Crawford's best win. And Postol's only claim to fame is a freak eye injury stoppage over a shot Lucas and Postol held like a lonely octopus for much of that fight too. Why no mention of Mickey Garcia??? Yes he was inactive for a little while, but other than that he is legit. Undefeated (no controversies whats so ever), multi-division world champ, decent opposition (Salido, Martinez, Burgos, Broner). Linares is the only MAYBE worthwhile fight at lightweight, but even then its almost a for sure thing he KTFO by Mickey. And with Crawford moving to 147, I can't think of anyone beating Mickey at 140.
My top ten now that Ward has retired ---- rip it apart boys ( this is just an opinion) 1) Crawford (the form fighter on the planet but needs a big fight) 2) Loma (best combo of technical and athletic in boxing) 3) GGG (If he got the decision against Canelo would be number 1 was a little unlucky but needed to do more) 4) Wangek ( This dude beat Choco twice and should get cred for it.. Choc was at the top of of most p4p lists not long ago) 5) Inoue ( seriously awesome fighter 2 fights in a row beats the number one guy in each div) 6) Rigo (cannot ignore his skills) 7) Canelo ( didn't do enough in the GGG fight, awesome in spots and has a serious chin, but needs to be able to fight for more than a minute per round. Would be unbeatable by any current fighter from 147-160 if his tank matched his skills) 8) Thurman (would be higher if he fought more but has bucket loads of talent - needs to fight spence) 9) M Garcia (just because he schooled Broner and I liked it) 10) Spence Jr (Will be the man for a few years from 147-154 needs to fight Thurman)
I am partial and biased on behalf of Lomachenko, and readily recognize this. But he is number 1 for me 2 Crawford 3 Canelo 4 GGG
what do you mean new? ward couldn't even beat kovalev the first time and who knows if a fair fight the second. and apparently sergei doesn't even train that hard. and canelo's running ass shouldn't be on the list either.
Loma's name don't even have any business in the conversation of picking a p4p number one fighter at this time.
I voted Crawford, his resume is better. Loma is second. Both are definitly up there. GGG have faded a little, he is in 3rd place.
It's a good question. Has there ever been a less accomplished one? Ward and then before him Roman were legit with deep resumes and/or elite victories. Crawford/Golovkin/Alvarez/Lomo/Naoya/Srisaket all leave something to be desired from a "pound for pound king" to me.
Nobody wants to watch Ward fight, thats why he retired. How can you be a fan of dat cheater? I honestly cant understand what kind of person you must be.
