Verno Phillips, who barely beat Spinks? Sergio Mora, who beat a 37 year old Forrest? Oscar de la Hoya, who fights once a year? Sergei Dzinziruk, who only fighting bums in Germany? Joachin Alcine?

Toss up between Spinks, Alcine, and Dzinziruk

    don't forget Spinks was robbed

and btw Dzinziruk is only fighting bums in Germany? He just recently beat Santos, who beat Margarito, the guy that Cotto is about to fight

Probably still Spinks, who in actually beat Phillips by a wide margin but got screwed. Alcine would beat Phillips and Mora..**** it who gives a ****, this division sucks.

Yeah Spinks was robbed. I don't rank him high because he hasn't a win at 154 since February 2007. That was his win over Rodney Jones.

Dzinziruk beat Santos in 2005. Won the belt and then went to Germany to defend it.

Verno Phillips beat the best light middle out there in Corey Spinks ...

off subject but I think that Spinks has been screwed his whole career and should have a middle weight title ... and still have his IBF crown.

    1. Phillips
    2. Mora
    3. Alcine
    4. Spinks
    5. DLH

I was more impressed by alcine's win over Simms, but damn, Simms came unprepared. He had the skills to be a top p4p boxer. Now i dunno where the hell he's at. So i would pick alcine since IMO Simms was the best in the division at the time.

Alcine was about 70% in that fight. Had a stomach virus all week.

If I were a young gun at 147 struggling to break through the logjam at the top, I'd consider moving up to 154 and try to own that division. Easier path to titles, and you could then either catch guys on the way up or go down at the point your name was established and get a huge payday at 147.

There is no top guy, that is the issue with the division.

Beating Dzinziruk would imo be most impressive.

I'd say Dzinziruk. He has the quality win over Santos for his title, and a few good wins against guys like Bayram, Konecny, and some decent prospects. He has also been the most consistent of the bunch, ie. he has held on to his title longer than the rest. I'd like to see a match with Alcine and Dzinziruk at this point, seeing as how DLH, Spinks etc won't fight either of them.
