Cotto and by quite a distance. He has improved in each of his fights and has beaten FAR better competition, he also ranks alot higher H2H. Sadly Calderon is close to shot and has been struggling with B/B- level opponents lately. He deserved to be getting all this credit a couple of years ago when he was dominating all his opponents and hardly losing a round.:good
come on man, he went up in weight to beat the undisputed champ Cazares (who weighed in at 131 on fight night), and then beat a former champion 12-0.....come on mang...Calderon is awesome. While Cotto has the bigger names, Calderon is a true champion.
Cotto gets much more exposure but Calderon is the better fighter skillwise. Calderon even beat Cotto in the amateurs (this is a fact).
Cotto shades it. Potentially great fighter on his way up versus a potentially great fighter on his way down.
I think Marquez senior is better than him in this department, but it's a point well made. Calderon is certainly a better technical fighter than Cotto, though I absolutley love Cott's positioning.
