Hard to choose, i will have to give it some thought. The one thing i do know is that Junior Witter should not be on that list
Alex Arthur never won a World Title Fight or successfully defended a World Title Belt in the ring so should not be on the list for me. Some other notable names missing from the list of Worst World Champions that should be considered include Lee Selby, Darren Barker, Anthony Joshua and Tony Bellew for example. Nicky Cook is the worst on your list for me.
You could probably double that list with all the phoney claimants we’ve had. Some of which have been listed in a few of the above posts. Laughable that Bellew, struts around as a former one. His win over Makabu in his backyard, being sandwiched in between being knocked out by both Adonis and Usyk, highlights this point! Witter doesn’t belong on that list, he proved his world class credentials.
First post, good to meet every one on the forum. In my opinion it would be Arthur for what you said, although he was in some good fights and was a game little boxer. Lee Selby was absolutely terrible and a cure for insomnia so he would be my next pick. I've had the pleasure of seeing Nicky Cook up live in the flesh during his pomp and he was all muscle what an athlete that man was so I can't possibly go for him. Tony Bellew was rubbish but he was a nutter he would give it his all in the ring not in the gym never once in shape and never a cruiserweight never mind a heavyweight he was a light heavy weight. But Lee Selby absolute dross and boxers like that put off fans who might otherwise get into the sport, the less of the Selby types the better.
Bellew was supposed to be destroyed by Makabu though mate. All the experts on here were saying it. I’d never seen him fight but I went the weigh in and knew Bellew was beating him. Could tolerate Bellew and even thought he was alright when not drumming up a fight prior to the pathetic one defence and then chasing the scrap yard Haye. Fair play to going back down and fighting Usyk though and giving him a better go than a far, far taller and heavier Joshua and pudding Chisora, despite being stopped.
