Don’t agree with that, he has good names in his record including Ceja and Kameda who he beat twice. Very boring though and comes across as a proper thicko.

Also I wouldn’t call his Inoue weight making comical, he could have done himself serious harm. Probably the most dangerous I have ever seen. Was shaking in his ring walk.

When I said it was comical, I meant it was more ridiculous as opposed to funny. You are right, he could have done himself serious damage or even worse; sanctioning bodies should really not allow such massive weight cuts and subsequent rehydration.

That midget Coldwell and smarmy Hearn should also take some accountability for it. I bet he got paid **** all for that fight too. 100k if he was lucky.

I don't know if it's already been mentioned but there's no doubt, Shannon Courtenay.

We aren’t counting her are we? Women’s divisions are about 5 deep and with 4 belts in every crappy weight class it’s pretty meaningless to win one alphabet only.

Bellew only ever won vacant titles and avoided his mandatory and the WBSS like the plague.

We're talking about an era with multiple titles per division, with governing bodies installing interim and super champs at the drop of the hat. Given these dynamics, scenarios can develop where fighters can win a "world" title without actually beating a world level opponent.

Even deep into the 90s alphabet era, it was pretty much a given that to get a world title you'd have to be top 5 in the division or thereabouts. Bizarre as it seems, that isn't even the case these days.

Most of the fighters on the list were clearly top 10 guys at some point. Witter for example was one of the best fighters at 140 for several years, and beat 4 titlists along the way.

With Hall, I'm struggling to see when (aside from briefly holding a belt) he had top 10 credentials. He never beat anyone I'd consider world class, and never put a run of solid wins together above domestic level. He obviously lost to every world-class fighter he faced.

It's harsh though to paint him as a "bad" world champion rather than a solid fighter with a respectable career. In a different era he'd be seen as a Lonsdale belt winner and world-level gatekeeper, who was never stopped.
