Do what by mistake? Andrade was halfway across the ring and he told him to go back and Bute was up at around 6. I never saw the controversy there, I think alot of people got caught up in the moment.

i cant believe the amount of whinny pussies on this board.
it was a close fight and you give the guy the benefit of the doubt. it wasnt a ruelas-garcia situation. he got knocked downin a world title fight and was hurt. NEWS FLASH, these guys get hurt and ****ing recover sometimes and hurt the other guy. get over it...the guy got KO'd. thats why they have that stat. they dont have a stat that says "stoppage by hurt"

 

I think he let both fighters do their thing - Bute, he allowed to clinch a lot; Andrade he allowed to use his head and elbows on the inside when Bute was clinching. In the last 30 seconds, I think he did very subtly try to buy Bute a bit of time, yeah. I don't think he should have stopped the fight before Bute went down...Bute was dog-tired, but he wasn't getting destroyed...Andrade himself seems pretty tired too...everything that happened after the KD in the last 2 seconds went by the book...but of course, the timekeeper screwed up...so the ref had to assume the fight was not already over by the time Bute was up on his feet.

I don't think Andrade would have won that fight with any other fair, competent referee.

But...I don't think Wright should referee their second encounter.

****, I guess some brits can't get over the Mayweather-Hatton fight!! BTW, even if Cortez would've put gloves himself to help Hatton , the outcome would've been the same. I just watched the Bute vs. Andrade fight the other night and, if you wanna talk about a disgrace of a ref, then this is the ONE... The commentators counted up to like 25 secs instead of the usual 10!
