100% going off of my memory which could be faulty, but I recall Joshua being the favourite. Though most still had a Klitschko win as a definite possibility. It was a classic young champ on the rise but can the old, experienced champ pull out enough to win? Yeah I just looked at the odds and it was about 1.5 for a Joshua win vs 2..5 for Klitschko, so Joshua definitely the favourite, but Klitschko not too big of an underdog.
I think odds had Joshua slight favourite, in general when talking to friends who were fight fans and some casuals it was expected that AJ would shatter Klitschko's chin early
Big Joshie was fav, hype train was huge as he was KO'ing all the people. Even Wlad was enjoying being the challenger according to him. Don't forget that Big Joshie was also fav for Usyk, despite all the people trying to rewrite and pretend he was taking on some big challenge. Let's make this clear, Big Joshie has been favourite in EVERY SINGLE MATCH-UP. Let that sink in. That's called being the most protected fighter in modern times. Wlad did have one advantage though. He sewed a flashdisk into his robe with a video message of himself naked in the sauna and after the fight he was going to reveal it. So that was a big psychological advantage since Wlad was an expert in psychology, as he often mentioned. I remember how happy Jonathan Banks was after that fight. I guess AJ was his favourite too.
Joshua I remember in France no peoples have doubt that Joshua will destroy it. I miss this version of Joshua he was so awesome my favorite boxer from England and my favorite Heavyweight in that time. He is still my favorite heavyweight currently but this version of Joshua is very underrated a absolute tank and very confident looks like a "little Mike Tyson" but more respectful in the ring very mature for his young age.
