Rd.8 McK down 20 secs in after geale catches him on the ropes, now geale on the attack, big shots landing, much better, geale down from a counter, up straight away, has to take a count, McK down again with 30 secs left after a big hook, **** whats that, help me phil, I'll go 10-8 to DG cos 2 kds to 1, 80-69 DG
rd.9 Geale on the attack, traps him on the ropes and flurries, just noticed Super Mario is reffing, nice o/hand right lands with 1 min to go, traps him again in a corner with 45 secs left and lands some great shots, easy rd to geale, 1 to go, 90-78 DG
Rd.10 Last Round...BIG COUNTER AND GEALE IS OUT no not really Marcus, more of the same, scores well trapping McK on the ropes, coasting home, comfortable points decision and a good work out for Geale, final rd 10-9 DG, My card 100-87
Did fenech just say he doesnt think Geale can beat Mundine? Gleale should have lost just for that **** tatoo on his back.
Mundine will beat geale, I can't see it happening, there is no public interest in it, After taylor mundine will fight Green and then the USA
My first thought when Lenny entered the ring was you use to be clean but now you look dirty, good thing he cannot grow a full beard :hey It will be good to sit back and watch him grow. Now Geale, he did not looked toned at all but apparently he was relaxed. Great to see him win, a bit long winded tho.
Geale won every single rd but lets be honest here, he was fighting a tin can and he got dropped also. It is not a good sign that this calibre of opponent after being hurt on about 5 different occasions throughout the fight made it to the final bell.I don't want to hear - "Geale and his team wanted to get some rds in". Well if that's the case why didn't he get the guy out of there after 7 rds. Imo Geale is a tidy boxer with good skills but poor power for someone who might consider themselves top 10/20 in the world at middle.I personally wouldn't give him much of a chance to beat Mundine. Mundine is better than Geale in all departments - speed, power, experience at high level, probably chin also. I bag Mundine out just as much as anyone on the forums , but he beats Geale imo and beats him well.
Fair call, he still seems pretty cautious and as silly as its going to sound after he suffered a knockdown I think his defense is pretty good. He got sloppy rushing in after decking him for the third or fourth time but maybe I'll give him that after such a long time between bouts. What impressed me was his precision in picking his shots, he doesn't have one punch knockout power but the accumulation of a few good shots in a row does the job for him as they all land on the mark. I don't think hes ready for Mundine just yet but nows the time to go to the next level opponent wise. He needs to be fighting every 3 months with a gradual increase in the level of opponent.
Exactly Leon. He should be fighting 4 times a year against increasing level of opposition. As i said in another thread i would like to see him fight someone like Raul Marquez who just got beaten by Arthur Abraham. At 37 Raul Marquez is past it but it would be a good test for an up and comer on the world stage like Geale.
