I think Margo has the edge obviously because of what happened in the first fight and because he just seems like the more relaxed care free fighter. Plus that "Hits like a little girl" comment was classic LOL.. It genuinely pissed Cotto the **** off.

Some people might think differently though. You can make a case that Cotto is in Margo's head with the constant plaster and criminal talk. If he did knowingly cheat then he knows in his head a serious weapon has been taken away from him and it could effect his pysche. And let's not forget about the eye.. Could that also effect Margarito psychologically?

I'd agree but it's all subjective till the night.Margarito seems to have got under people's skins(I only mean regarding THIS fight) but Cotto's never been one for getting emotional in build ups.Not outwardly anyway.

I think psychologically Margo has got the edge no matter what Cotto says, Cotto is still going to have in the back of his head the fact he got a beat down in the 1st fight.

While the general consensus seems to be that margarito has the psychological edge, IMO I see more fire in miguel's eyes than in margarito's right eye...:blood

I agree.. I think Cotto is mentally trying to convince himself that the only reason he got beat that bad is because Margo cheated, but all he has as proof is a picture of what looks like torn gauge. He has to consider that just maybe Margo really didn't cheat.

Cotto is 100% convinced that Margo cheated and will beat him senseless without the added pop in his punches. Nothing Margo will say or do (until tomorrow) will change that. If there is an edge, it's Cotto since Margo knows what's up.

  7. i wouldnt be so sure. cotto genuinely believes that margo used plaster when they fought. he really believes that margo's punches wouldnt have affected him as much. i think that if cotto doesnt gas so early he can really win.

I agree with you but is that a good thing or a bad thing?.. Cotto should be focused on boxing his ass off for 12 rounds and he could be so fired up that he plays to Margo's strengths and gets into an ugly slugfest.

cotto will find out in the ring as soon as margo hits him if he was right or wrong. if margo has essentially the same power that hurt him before, cotto may fold again in the latter rounds if he allows margo to pressure him the same way.

As much as Cotto is one of my favourite fighters and I want him to win this fight, I can't argue that he has the mental edge here.

Throughout the build up to this fight it's like he has been desparate to get some kind of confirmation that Marg definitely did use loaded wraps against him. He has placed so much emphasis on the importance of foul play in his loss in the first fight it's as if he daren't entertain the idea that he was beaten fairly. If that was the case then his entire confidence and belief is misplaced

  11. Cotto's real battle in that ring is stamina. If he has it tomorrow, he wins.

Let's face it, it took tony 11 rounds to make Cotto gas out. He was not on the floor counting sheep etc.

Stamina and smart boxing wins the fight. Rito is a celebrity club fighter nothing more.

Good point.. Cotto has a chance to confirm to himself and the world that his accusations are valid by outclassing and maybe even stopping Margo. Now if he gets beat again then he almost has to admit that Margs was always the better man.. I think that also has to be in his head.

I don't think either man has either lost or won. Both have stood their ground well.

While I see the concerns about Cotto's cries about foul pray working against him, I think he knows that illegal wraps or not, he has to focus on doing better this time around based on a few technical reasons. It's a huge element of the hype and the drama, I'm sure they keep asking him his thoughts on it, and I'm sure if I started seeing strong circumstantial evidence of someone tampering with my health, I'd start to get pissed too.

I love Cotto, but I was a big, long time Margarito fan going into first fight.
I honestly thought Cotto was giving a masterclass first 5 stanzas that would be remembered for years. His bobbing, weaving and counterpunching were a joy to behold, but he never hurt Margarito. It's all about whether he can turn those first five rounds into 9 or 10 and navigate the others.I've no problem with Cotto getting revenge but I think it's Margarito's to lose.Cotto's stamina is the key to the whole fight for me.

When both men ae in the ring, and the fights starts, Cotto my have psyched himself enough to truly believe Margarito had loaded gloves....BUT if and as soon as he feels the same power behind Margarito's punches than in their first fight...He's going to be like "WTF"....and fold and get either KO or fight to survive.

He did himself a diservice blaming his loss to the knuckle pads. Because as soon as he feels Tony's power, he's going to **** himself.
