I think cotto is really uncomfortable even talking about this fight, i don't know how he will be in the ring.

Margo is comfortable and seem unfaized, cotto is also trying to act like this fight isn't effecting him, but he looks super nervous/sacred to me in 24/7.

I agree that Margo is/was a clubber so the "once Cotto feels his power early" argument is incorrect. Around rounds 5-9 is when Cotto should really taste his power and we'll see if he holds up. Margarito gave him that beating in rds 10-11 but those body punches, uppercuts, high endurance, and constant pressure throughout is what took Cotto out. Can't wait to see the results of the fight a few hours after the fight and watch it later.

Who's won the psychological war between Cotto and Margo?

I had it a split decision.

  5. Margo stated he did not feel difference in wraps prior to the mosley fight... so perhaps, he is doubting himself now. He may very well be asking himself, maybe evil Cappy did load my wraps for Cotto fight?

I disagree with the notion that Cotto is emphasising too much on his belief that Margo cheated in the 1st fight. If he didn't believe that, he'd be conceding that Margo is the better fighter, a belief which cannot be dispelled as easily as the knowledge that Margo certainly won't be using loaded wraps in the upcoming rematch.

That said, I think Marg has the advantage mentally. Even if he knows he was using loaded gloves, he also knows that he can handle Cotto's power. It's Cotto who needs to show something different in this fight. He's got to be able to cope with the 12 round relentless pressure of Marg constantly coming forward whilst not getting drawn into a scrap.

I really hope this is as brutal as I think it's going to be. Exhanges after the bell, bomb trading etc, can see it all happenning :D.

  7. Cotto too was handling Marg's power in the first half prior to when the plaster would have worn his body out making him less durable in the latter rounds... A less gassed Cotto, does not keep his hands down and survives the last few rounds with superior skills to win. The broken nose from round 2 on is and was a factor come round 10....

Rarely has a fight featuring two fighters well south of their best seemed so gripping.
Cotto has to forget about pre-fight psychology because the guy on the wrong end of such a beating will always have to concede the upper hand as far as this subject goes.
Cotto has to concentrate purely on the fight because the other issues will only drag him into another defeat.I'm thinking his new trainer might have a lot more stategies for the psychological side than your average trainer. For Cotto's sake he'd better have.

And this is what I consider bad for Cotto. WHat if MArgo didn't use the plaster? When Cotto get tomorrow night and realizes, **** these hurt just like the 1st fight, he's ****ed. Because right then he's gonna know Margo beat him fair and square. His mind set will be shattered.

Again, we just don't know. But we find out tomorrow night!

Fair point. One thing I would point out however is how Cotto looked to be lacking for stamina in the final rounds against Pac. Marg obviously doesn't have the same output as Pac, but I think he will be looking to force the pace the way he did in the 1st to try and once again induce Cotto's fatigue.

Right now, I'd say in 60/40 in favor of Marg. Desperately want to see Cotto smash him to bits though.

It Tony's power was legit, this is likely to happen. As a Cotto fan, this is my biggest fear leading into tomorrow.

If Cotto comes out to push Margo back, then Cotto won the phsychological battle, because he recognizes that is how you beat Margo.

Just a thought about gassing, broken nose etc. If Cotto's nose was broken in the 2nd, before the plaster set, that suggests to me that Marg carries enough power to do the same without loaded gloves...
