Frazier, marciano,Holmes and lewis must be ranked above Tyson and i think that it is not even a debate
He's only one of the Greatests, that's all, one of the Greatest... his perseverance, fortitude, skill and excellence carried him to Victories over dozens of great fighters & champions, he also 'lost' in some Q'd results against his great peers. lastly, you do realise when comparing fighters it is supposed to go without saying that they are paired Prime & Peak, and in that reality, Jersey Joe Walcott Sits, Wins and loses absolutely commendably with any Heavyweight in History. Heavyweight, not S-HWs as I categorically class them as different animals, because of the aforementioned HEIGHT & REACH.
Holmes for me is pretty save #3. Close to a 49 - 0, but beating young challangers getting old himself, as well as having 20 of these fights for the title. Got up from atomic bombs with tons of grit and heart. Compare that with Ali losing to Norton (arguably twice) and Louis losing to Schmeling.... Therefore I have no idea how someone can pick Rocky over him. Lewis comes close to Holmes, but its a question how to count these two sloppy KO-losses. So I see a reason putting Lewis lower than 4 maybe.
Ali , Holmes, Louis? Ali, Louis,Lewis, Ali, Lewis,Louis, Ali, Lewis, Holmes, Ali, Louis, Holmes. Theirs only one constant of the 4, The other 3 are interchangeable in my opnion, though Lewis and Louis would Lose this most in a round Robin or head to head Scenario if each fighter fought every fighter in In the top 10 ATG's.
Marciano, and imo the only people who can reasonably be argued over him are Foreman and Holmes, whom make up my 4-5 respectively.
Shocked at all the Holmes picks...I’m sure Wlad will be looked at in the same prism in twenty years. Picked Marciano and /or Lewis but depending on the day could have been Liston, Foreman, Or Holmes.
You know, I really think the line between Lewis and Holmes is wafer thin. There s things you can take from both mens careers, put em up and say.. Who at their best can beat this guy? And there's really not many at all. I've said before that Lewis could beat Ali in a series and so could Holmes. And imo at least, both could perhaps beat a prime Foreman. Not much at all to separate em.
