I believe Ali Johnson , Dempsey ,beat him. Dempsey by early ko.

I think Louis would have life and death with Holmes , Lewis, Liston, and some very scary moments with Foreman, and Tyson.
But you are of course entitled to your view after all, it is as valid as mine.:good

h2h you can argue any way you like really, although Dempsey as the h2h #2 all time at 190lbs based on the available footage is an enormous reach for me.

To be totally honest I think number 3 should be between holmes and johnson. Rocky has a decent shout based on legacy but I wouldn't put him as high as them 2.

Ali and Lousi are the two ones at the top for me.

Holmes is a (not so distant) third. He had amazing skills and a great resume. Furthermore: H2H in their prime version I think Holmes is the only ATG who has a decent chance of beating both; prime Ali and prime Louis. Everybody else has just marginal chances or worse.

After them, it is more or less matched to me: Holyfield, Lewis, Marciano, Foreman, etc.

One issue: Sorry, but I don't rank Tyson very high. At best, he makes 10th in my ATG list. Sure he had amazing skills, and he HAD true potential to be at the very top with Louis and Ali; but his career resume has simply too many "fail" and question marks for me to rank him any higher.

Lennox Lewis, behind Ali and Louis. I'm not too sure about that because Lewis fought in a better era, beat better fighters and is probably better head to head than Louis, but Louis had that really long reign which counts for a lot and the competition wasn't there for him which wasn't his fault I suppose

    After Ali / Louis (or Louis / Ali, of course), the guys in the mix are;

    Marciano
    Holmes
    Lewis
    Johnson
    and maybe Liston

I think these are the guys in Tier 2 @ HW.

It feels like Holmes has become the 'official' ESB answer in recent times. I think amongst the wider public, Marciano is probably seen as the #3 guy.

I'm leaning towards my guy Lennox Lewis for the slot.

#3 for me is Lennox Lewis. If he had a better chin, I would say #1.

Holmes or Tyson for me, I don`t have time to get into it but I swap those 2 around from time to time.
