Yeah, I hate it when Sean gets dumped on. He's so underrated, as a commentator as well as a fighter.

I don't think any other guy would have done as good as Al Bernstein and Al Michaels for Hagler/Hearns. Incredible!!

If you listen to the post fight interview Frost, not Ali, coined the phrase 'rope-a-dope'...

Jerry Quarry provided good expert comments back in the day. He was opinionated without being an arsehole and insightful without being a know-it-all, plus he had a nice speaking voice.

Don Dunphy was what a commentator should be. He called it as it happened without bias, hyperbole and ego. I reckon he was the anti-Cosell and all the better for it.

Roy Jones is as sharp as a tack boxing-wise. I've heard him on numerous occasions predict what was likely to happen in the ring and for it to unfold as he said it would. He's very good and like Quarry he has a mellow engaging personality that makes listening to them an enjoyable part of any fight card.

Al Bernstein is my all time favorite. I also really like Emanuel Steward, Joe Tessitore, Don Dunphy, and Teddy Atlas.

Can't stand Bernstien or that prat chancer kellerman.

    Gil Clancey
Col Bob when he ai'nt in drunk **** suck mode
    Larry Merchant
    Ferdie Percheco
    Emmanual Steward
    Don Dunphy

Most old school commentators where brought up being radio jorno's so mastered the art of decription.

Berstein ai'nt as bad as he was years back when all you heard was his high pitched non-stop squealing, he was the first of the modern day commentators for TV that just preffered hearing his own voice in the atempt at self avancement at the expence of the real stars of the show. A sesame street puppet in comparison to dunphy & clancy.

He's righty! Now he's turned Lefty! now he's back righty again!! He's fighting inside!! now outside!! inside****inoutside!! What a load of ****in Shite!!! JUST SHUT IT YOU **** i used to scream at the telly!!

Reg Gutteridge won the global Award for his incredible commenatary of the Hagler/Hearns fight which nuked the atrocious american commentary by comparrison but became a tad too laid back for my liking in the 90's & spent more time knocking the fighters of that day & his bias towards sucking up to SRL was creepy as most seemed to do back then when they got close to Leonard.

Larry Merchant. At the end of De La Hoya Vargas. One of my fave
fights. "Fernando had a six pack in his abs, but he did not have
a six pack in his chin" 'Manny, Tarver, Lewis, Roy, Foreman was
    whacky but good.
