    Was in some great fights.

Hammered by the underrated Buster Drayton, a loss which didn't look as bad, not so long afterwards

    Thank you.

Let us not forget the likes of Peter Buckley when it comes to favourites also.

All fighters deserve a mention regardless of how succesful they were.

The journeyman is the unappreciated cog in the boxing machine brother.

    Sadly they are.
But the more we mention them folk should appreciate what they did, and talk about them more..

They put modern day fighters to shame.

Scrap Iron was certainly a character. That Palamino fight was hilarious.

I was shocked at that result, because Hale was on a good run of form and I think one fight away from a WBO title shot. That went up in smoke following the first round KO.

I remember Shea Neary causing a stir when ITV made a comeback, Eubank in the studio. He’d punch himself in the face at the start of his entrance.

But he was no Ricky Hatton in terms of quality. Before Hatton was known. A young Hatton’s foot movement and balance was class, for a stocky build squat lad he sure could manoeuvre angles and torque well.

I remember the quote from Glyn Leach in that months Boxing Monthly. ‘Shea Neary dubbed the white Nigel Benn by Gary No Brains, err I mean Newbon’ :).
