Probably Lennox. Was just the perfect time for me as a young whippersnapper and my boxing fandom was probably at its highest then.
if we were doing good fighters who achieved world class things as a human outside the right, got to pop James Cook up there. Only stumbled upon rememberingg him when I had a look at Watson's record and saw Cook had beat him. not that I'm bored cos there is no boxing on tonight. I'll probably try to find some European boxing somewhere.
Will always remember James Cook beating one of my favourite fighters Mark Kaylor.Maybe wrong but think it may have been Mark`s last fight
it was mate. I'm not a boxing knowledge I've just checked. Ah the boxingless Saturdays. I keep clicking on different boxers in boxrec and getting lost.
haha me too, not to worry. I ended up on a profile on a 1960s boxer thinking I really do need to find a fight to watch. Now watching Miguel's WC show and a Finnish bill headlined by Helenius.
I saw Kaylor v Sibson at a sold out Wembley Arena. Both men always had a large football related fanbase. It got very ugly that night ! As a teenager, it was pretty frightening.
Haye is probably up there, ridiculed by many but at his best was such a slick fighter with incredible power. Id probably pick Eubank and Benn as my top 2 just because thats the first time i remember watching boxing as a youngster and they were both such warriors. Froch and Hatton in more recent times for the same warrior reasons. One fighter who may not have been mentioned is Billy Joe Saunders, hes a devisive figure as a man but i dont think ive seen many british boxers more naturally gifted, an absoloute waste of a career in the end he had so many more levels in him if he could have dedicated himself, i always felt we only saw 70% of his best in most of his fights.
