IMO, Anderson is the best fighter on the planet, but GSPs resume shits all over his Bones Jones is almost exactly in the middle - super talented and a much stronger resume that Andersons but not as good as Georges And so, for me anyway, picking a P4P King depends on how much weight you give to talent vs resume I'll put up a poll - pick your Champ and explain why :good
Silva GSP Jones As of this moment. Silva's resume is nowhere near as bad as it's being made out either. He gets credit for beating contenders 20lbs north as well.
Well, it depends on how you judge P4P. I always think how the fighters skill sets would match up were they the same weight. On the basis of this I actually think Jones and GSP beat Anderson because, as Sonnen showed in 6 rounds, Anderson can be out wrestled and Jones and GSP are brilliant wrestlers that could control the fight in terms of standing/grappling. If you go on skill level and achievements I would say Silva as I actually prefer strikers and AS is the best there is on the feet.
anderson is king but GSP may have the best resume of all time. never has a guy beat down genuine threats one after the other like the run he is on now. almost anyone in the top 10 at the moment could be champion on any given day and yet he remains like a dreadnought at the summit. the guy is an absolute legend
I judge P4P as regardless of size who has done the better work. Otherwise imagining Nonito Vs Wladimir is just painstakingly spasticated.

These threads are ok for speculation but none of the fighters mentioned careers have ended. Whoever ends their careers on the high becomes the P4P King im my opinion. From the looks of things for both Silva and GSP its going be within the next 2 years, or until their superfight eventuates in that case the winner will retire becoming the P4P King. Basically within a few fights the P4P King will be crowned. After all this I just read the title properly and it says "your" so Im leaning towards Jones, just. The reason is because Im not all that impressed with Anderson. Im not hating but I find his last few fights to be lacking in competition, if he flogs Weidman then my opinion changes. GSP is a great skilled MMA fighter but lacks that killer instinct to destroy opponents on the ground. Watching GSP makes me nervous, which is probably why I dont find his last few fights boring because Im anticipating him getting tagged....Jones just has not looked too vulnerable (so far)
That doesn't stand up IMO as Flean says how would that work. Under that assumption Wlad is shite p4p as his style is based off his size. H2h is also different to p4p IMO. For example, Pac has the better p4p record but Marquez is better H2h. p4p for me is about achievements, in the complete sense of what you have done in the ring. GSP dominates, Anderson annihilates and Jones is somewhere in between. GSP beats great contenders down, Anderson humiliates guys who are large at a higher weight class. Personally I can accept either as p4p king as it is such a fine difference. GSP has the greater consistency and better competition whilst Anderson has fought much bigger guys and completely ruined/embarassed opponents. I am biased towards Silva as he is my favourite fighter but I can't argue against George either. Flean why do you use your logic to ruin everything.
You can`t put Jones ahead of GSP or Silva IMO, those two are the best right now. I put Silva as the no1 guy myself, I don`t see how you can`t tbh, he hasn`t lost for years & has really only had one hard fight in the UFC vs Sonnen the first time & he still won by stoppage via triangle, he destroyed him in the rematch as well. He`s technically the best striker there has ever been in MMA, his wrestling isn`t great but his BJJ from his back from a dfensive point of view is very strong so that almost cancels his lack of wrestling out. GSP is a bit more complete but Silva is a little better.
Anderson Silva is BRUTAL all round. Yes he can be taken down, but he is a beast off his beck on the ground, look again. Henderson and (clean) Sonnen could do NO damage. PED Sonnen could do little more than SLAP him. That was a guy roided up
You think so? Bones has crushed guys like Shotgun, Machida, Rampage Aldo - great tho he is - hasnt destroye those sort of fighters
I have my doubts about the value of the Shogun win, you know Beouche, I think Shogun was not even 70% of his best shape in that fight....and we can all agree that Shogun is past prime for a while.... Machida is a great win but it´s really better than Edgar ? I wouldn´t be sure if it´s better than Faber tbh.... Rampage is a very good win but better than Florian, Mendes and Mike Brown (he was a p4p top 10 to many people at that time)... I think it deserves a discussion...
