1.Usyk (Uncrowned champ, will beat them all) 2.Fury 3.Wilder 4. Parker (got robbed by Brits x2 should be undefeated) 5.Juicy J (would be much lower if not for TUE's) 6.Hunter (robbed blind against Povetkin, gave Usyk a fight) 7.Ruiz 8. Ortiz 9. Povetkin 10. Gassiev
Good list, anyone could change a few of the rankings and still have a good set. Only surprise is the exclusion of DDD. I can go with your top 5 as you have it and many others have a similar top 5. If Pov was 5+ years younger he could be #3. I think Ruiz gets a bit disrespected here. He is 1-1 (with a stoppage win) vs AJ who most have as #2 if not co #1. Showing up like a blimp in his 2nd w/AJ will do that.
Why do you have Usyk at number 2? Who has he beaten at heavyweight for you to rank him so highly? Shouldn’t you wait to see if he can at least beat Chisora before you lord him as one of the top 5?
I really don't understand some of you who have put Usyk in your lists. He's fought ONE heavyweight fight against... who? Opinion is opinion, but I don't see how him whooping at Cruiserweight and beating someone below Chisora level is proof of his Heavyweight abilities. Needs at least 1 top 10 fight surely?
I think to a certain degree it's riding on the coat tails of Hunter's success. Hunter arguably beat Povetkin last time out, and Povetkin is now unquestionably in the top five. Usyk completely dominated Hunter and at a weight not much less than Hunter is fighting at now. He'd likely dominate him again, which instantly puts him in the upper echelons of the division. But yes, until he actually beats someone in the top ten, and does so with ease, I don't think we should be jumping to conclusions. Though given Usyk's success against big sized HWs like Joyce in the past I don't think we need to worry.
Usyk is the most skilled heavyweight right now, it`s just a case of whether he can take a heavyweight shot.
Dubois has done nothing to prove he is above Usyk, Ortiz, Povetkin or Parker, we need to see if he can beat Joyce before we can tell if he`s ready for the top heavies yet.
He took Gassiev's and Briedis's, who both hit as hard as any HW. Also took Joyce's, Nistor's and Medzhidov's who are all fully fledged HWs.
Thank you, and I'll answer the point about Dubois below... I just didn't think he'd accomplished enough at HW to be included, same goes for Makhmudov, Hrgovic, Ajagba and Yoka. Eye test doesn't count for enough to be included. The resume has to come close to matching. I'd probably include Bakole, Martin, Rivas, Jennings and Hughie before I added any of them.
