my take on this whole thing:

Hatton is a good fighter. He is extremely hard-working and has a lot of heart. He is in the mould of McCollough or Bakero for those that know their football. Someone that you would not necessarily notice if he was a footballer, but who would play an important role for the team. A working class style fighter.

Floyd on the other hand is an Anelka. A gifted fighter with more skill than Hatton.

Currently, neither are really crossing over to anywhere outside of their already core audience. Hatton because his style is a little annoying at times with too much wrestling. Mind you, I do acknowledge that Hatton is talented and he does have skill - it is just not what sets him apart. Where Hatton's style at times gets a little annoying, Floyd's style for many fights is downright boring as hell. The DLH "fight" was probably the most boring fight I have seen in years. Floyd has more raw skill than Hatton, but he certainly does not bother apply that to actually entertain people.

The problem seems to be that he actually can only win by fighting in this Ottke-style that Ottke already showed can be effective - but mind numbingly boring as well. He needs to go down to a weight where he can actually win in other ways than by running. I believe he won a clear win over Oscar btw. I am not disputing his wins nor his talent, but boring... yes.

Kellerman is a biased *****. I say so not because of his comments for this fight alone, but because he has shown it over and over. He is biased and everything not stamped "made in the US" (or at least Mexico..) is discounted and he will go to great lenghts to try to find a way to do so. He is completely unrealiable and biased and those are probably not attributes a journalist should aspire to.

If I had the choice between watching Hatton or Mayweahter fight? I would chose Hatton. For sure. However, if Mayweahter comes to 140 and changes his game to actually fight and run less, I think I would prefer a Floyd fight, because I appreciate skill above most other things.. but currently he is just too boring.
