I think you can add that Khan may have lost a potential fight with Floyd. That in itself makes things closer. But I say Ortiz, too.

Khan has a bit of a Wladimir aura around him now, whereas Ortiz has a Golota aura.

Khan, I think, still has more potential.

Both of their careers are fine they could get title shots right away if they wanted to

  3. Khan exceeded his expectations. His Chin is abysmal, the worst Glass Jaw in the sport outside of Kirkland, and yet he landed a World title and unified.

In the end, this is true.

Ortiz makes for better fights, but Khan has the much better resume and big fanbase. They are both in great shape for big fights now because of these and their glaring weaknesses as fighters.

Funny that both of these guys have highly questionable fights with Lamont Peterson. Ortiz drew with him a year before Khan lost the SD. Both fights I scored against Lamont, the Ortiz fight by 2- I think 3 points and the Khan fight by 2 points, with me beyond seeing and respecting a Peterson scorecard over Khan but feeling that the Ortiz fight approached "robbery."

Also, I feel that Khan should not and will not go anywhere near a Danny Garcia rematch. I see the exact same result happening, perhaps a little later.

Khan should pursue rematches with Paulie or Judah, or Guerrero if he attempts to build himself up. If he intends to test himself hard for earning power and respect he should challenge Timothy Bradley and finally make that fight happen in the UK (honestly think it is highly realistic at this point if Khan wanted it) or rematch Maidana or Prescott. Funny that a guy like Breidis Prescott can land under "list of guys to get respect from fighting" as opposed to the "in attempt to build back up."

But he unified against a guy with Glass Balls and exploited that.

he has more potential but he undermines that potential by remaining sure of his greatness despite having been betrayed by his chin on multiple occasions now. also, I didn't include the floyd fight because it was never a sure thing, whereas ortiz-canelo was signed and sealed.

Good shout on the potential matchup. Could bill it as a last chance saloon fight.

I would go for a Ortiz KO

Have to say Khan's career has taken the biggest nosedive.....we all knew Ortiz had a touch of the quitter about him!!!! Bu I really didn't expect to see Khan get flattened by Garcia.....

Have to agree though that match up between these two could actually be a classic...both vulnerable but can occasionally get involved in a tear up.....I'd go for an Ortiz ko too...:bbb

Khan and Ortiz should fight each other next.
