I'm sure we've all had favourite fighters who have let us down at some stage with a previously unknown fragile mandible. For me, David Price was an obvious example. He was knocking guys out with ease and there was no mention of a pretty pathetic punch resistance. Audley Harrison is of course the grandaddy of this particular section. Whose chin has let you down the most and why?

and he had to pay the price for it. *badum-tss*

    I’ll see myself out.
Recently, Loma getting dropped by Linares was a bit of a bummer.

    The Price definitely wasn't right.

I don't know if I'd say Fraudley's chin ever let ME down, since I expected it to be shattered when I saw tomato cans wobbling him early in his career. However, it certainly let HIM down, whenever he faced someone halfways decent.

Joshua is probably the most obvious example that comes to mind for me. I thought reports of his mandibular fragility were greatly exaggerated. BOY, was I wrong.

I'm not sure Joshua's chin is that awful. I think he has a glass mentality and a soft temple.

Tyson Fury outted Price's weak jaw early in their careers. He said he had been dropped and KO'ed in the amateurs a number of times.

Over the years, whether it’s chin or heart it’s hard to tell -

    golota
    Botha
    Bruno
    Enzo mac
    Mugabi
    Dimitrenko

Off the top off my head all had the goods but chin/ heart generally let them reach the top

Edit - yeah some guys got world titles and well done, but if they were more sturdy they would have went further

Tommy "The Duke" Morrison had one of best left hooks in the history of the sport and the heart of a lion but the chin of Tiffany. I saw a lot of disappointed folk when he fought Mercer, I'm sure they had the fireworks and confetti ready and even Donald Trump showed up with pomp looking like he had some future investment at Trump Plaza.

David Haye, it annoys me that he got stopped by Bellew 2x... oh well, I don’t think that would’ve happened to a prime Haye but now we never know... :(

Good call on Enzo. Not only was his chin bad but the KOs were unusually brutal and final for the most part. Glass didn't shatter... it melted....

Think the fact he was one legged and crippled was the problem with Haye in those fights.

AJ right now, although the signs were always there and rumours about sparring sessions.
