Just a few years ago AJ and Wilder were both Champion and both unbeaten looking to fight each other. But a few years later both have taken a massive fall from grace, after rapid rises, but whose fall was greater?

Hard for me to tell, as Wilder not only got raped, but he humiliated himself even more with the thousand excuses. While AJ got scared to get into a fight with Ruiz in their second bout (no trilogy was ever mentioned by both sides), then AJ was schooled by Usyk and behaved like the midget he always was.

I think definitely AJ. Wilder was seen as a puncher but AJ was seen as the second coming.

The nature of the Ruiz loss was very damaging. Then the fact he boxes more timidly now and didnt let his hands go in the Usyk rematch was not a good look.

AJ has had a better career than Wilder in my opinion. But in fairness to Wilder, as delusional as he is, he does believe in what he says. He got beat pillar to post in the second Fury fight but came out guns blazing in the 3rd. That shows a lot of mental fortitude.

Hard to say. AJs loss to Ruiz was the worse loss either himself or Wilder suffered in terms of opponent quality. But he avenged it. And then he lost to an ATG in Usyk twice which would have been fine if not for his in ring meltdown after the second fight.

Wilder claimed Fury was featherfisted before getting the **** kicked out of him by Fury. He then made some of the most ridiculous excuses I've ever heard before getting stopped again.....however Wilder was never hyped to the level of AJ. And so didn't have as far of a fall from grace.

You could argue either way, I would say Joshua though.

Wilder’s fall wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if he didn’t make 1000 pathetic excuses that he still believes in (till this day). But at the end of the day losing to Tyson Fury (especially in an epic war where he knocked down Fury twice in their trilogy match) is nothing to be ashamed of, considering he never quit

Joshua’s fall from grace was abrupt. The hype and media machine behind him up to 2019 was incredible, then he got battered by a fatty that only hardcores had heard of before. The manner in which he seemed reluctant to come out of his corner after the 4th KD didn’t help him either. Then getting dominated twice by Usyk and his meltdown has resulted in the absolute lowest public opinion of him in his career so far.

Right now, the majority public opinion seems to be that Wilder would beat Joshua if they fought right now, so when you consider that in 2019 Joshua was generally held in higher regard by the public, then I’d say Joshua’s fall from grace was the bigger fall.

    AJ probably.

Wilder has only lost against one guy, the Heavyweight number one, and he could still feasibly beat everyone else in the division.

AJ has lost against two opponents, one of whom probably isn't even top 15 in the division on ability.

It's also more difficult for me to see a route back for AJ than Wilder, there are lots of fighters who I give Wilder a good chance against or even favour to beat, who AJ might struggle with.

Take Joe Joyce for example, you'd have to be mad to think AJ has a better chance with Joyce than Wilder and (at least theoretically) he now stands between both of them and a title shot. Same can be said for Usyk.

Moreover, when I look down the top 25 on BoxRec I struggle to see an opponent that I think AJ would fair better with than Wilder would. So in that regard it certainly feels like AJ has fallen further from the title than Deontay.

Well Wilder has only lost to Tyson Fury, who is considered the best Heavyweight in the world. Anthony Joshua lost to Andy Ruiz who he was heavily favoured to beat. And lost in pretty embarrassing fashion.

Joshua also fought alot more cautious after Ruiz loss, where as Wilder still fights the same way looking for KO. Also quite a few people thought Wilder was overrated and fought nobodies, but has actually gained some respect for giving Fury a good fight in their 3rd meeting. Where as Joshua was immensely hyped up in the UK, and I would say has lost some respect recently from the fans.

Overall I'd say Joshua's fall was greater, especially after his ridiculous antics after the 2nd Usyk fight. But this could all change in 2 years or so, Wilder could possibly lose to Ruiz also, so let's wait and see how it all pans out.

AJ was viewed as better so his fall may be a little steeper. Still Wilder got knocked out twice by a guy he called feather fists. I always viewed Wilder as a hype job and a manufactured heavy so to me it’s AJ

Joshua without question, no one was putting up threads about how Wilder would beat Ali, Foreman and Frazier.

Neither of them? One lost to Fury three times, the other to Usyk twice, hardly like they've been getting destroyed by gatekeepers.

Wilder by a massive humongously large distance

Joshua regained his belts and avenged his loss to Ruiz, he then went 24 rounds and matched his boxing skills with the highest IQ boxer in the world

Wilder retreated to la la land and wrote a book called ‘101 excuses when you lose a boxing match’
