You can tell me all you want, but companies tracked the stolen PPVs. And the numbers were widely published at the time. Nobody is a child here. We all know the deal. They actually published within days in 2020 how many stolen streams there were for Fury-Wilder II. If you are counting purchased PPVs to determine viewership, you are YEARS behind the times. That ship sailed many years ago. "Illegal stream" isn't a new phrase. 20 million to 30 million viewers are a lot of people. I'm not going to argue with you because there's nothing to argue. Tens of Millions more people watched the fight than bought it. It's not exactly a secret.
If Usyk beats Fury twice, then retires. It’s HIS era. Simple as that. That means he’ll have beaten the two men that defeated Wlad. And yes I know Usyk has been at HW for only five years but still… it’s how he’s done it. And Cruiser is just right downstairs from the Bigs. Usyk for me.
Its going to be Fury even if turns out he was the 3rd best all along. He was perceived as the best for a healthy 6 or 7 years in which time he never lost. AJ lost to Ruiz and then Usyk twice. Usyk has been considered better since beating AJ but Usyk only entered the picture in 2021. If Usyk beats Fury the 2015-2020 period won't be viewed as his era. If AJ takes over now it will be viewed as a comeback story it will not retroactively make the post Klitschko era his.
It will then be up for grabs in their rematch IF Fury wins that… then it’s really his era imo. But If Usyk gets it… Rubber match. It’s really down to Usyk and Fury imo.
Fury has put his stamp on it thus far. He dethroned Vlad and then obliterated one of the "big three" heavyweights. It's his era to lose. If Usyk dominates Fury then he claims the latter half of the post Vlad era.
Couldn't it then be said (in case Fury loses to Usyk) that just as Fury ended Wlad's era, so Usyk ended Fury's?
Not really because Usyk is unlikely to go on to do too much after the Fury fights. Maybe he can hold off father time for a bit longer, but he's just too old at this point. Usyk's "era" is a story of his CW domination and his moving up for brief HW glory. I think the Fury/Usyk era will end at the same time.
It doesn't belong to anyone. No one has really made it clear. And sure as f'k isn't Fury with his weak ass resume.
Nobody can claim it's their era yet. Usyk is the closest, if he beats Fury, having beaten Joshua twice already that cements it as his era. If Fury wins, he still has to prove he can beat Joshua. But if he does that too, after beating Usyk then it's his era. It gets real tricky if Fury beats Usyk but then loses to Joshua.
Parker already shown Wilder's true level, couldn't even win a round vs Parker and Fury barely beat Ngannou, until he proves he's better than Usyk he isn't running any show.
If Usyk beats Fury it's his Fury still needs to face Aj if both don't lose their next fights If Usyk wins in May and a rematch? Then Aj v fury is for the silver medal I have backed Fury from day 1 and can't not pick him. I don't want to be fickle. However, Usyk is the favourite to win, or least he should be
Usyk-Fury will decide that probably. Of course, if Fury beats Usyk and then loses to Joshua it becomes a bit complicated, but Usyk-Fury is the most likely decider.
