Whose Jab would you want: Holmes, Ali, Louis, Liston

Definitely Peanut Head. It's the best mix of speed, power and accuracy.

 

Louis's jab would be most painful and was usually followed up by something fatal like his right. Louis was the ultimate lethal puncher, so I vote for his jab.

holmes jab is powerful fast and accurate and he would be able to beat a lot of fighters just by using his jab:think

 

I'm taking Holmes jab. Most constant and damaging. Not to say that Liston's isn't good, in fact it's also devestating. However, Holmes used his like no tomorrow. Like a piston.

What I think about the other jabs:

Liston - Rates 2nd for me. This jab would be like getting hit by a broad-spear or something. It was a close call, I could have easily voted for this one too.

Louis - A technician's jab. It was a "filler punch" nothing bad though. He was just as effective with it, but he won fights with those deadly combinations. This jab is useful, but not in the way that Holmes is dedicated to it.

Ali - A flickering jab with sharp cutting power. It's a trade off, with Ali you get insane speed and accuracy. Holmes you get power and accuracy. I'll take the power.

All-in-all the jabs are all effective in their own right. I'd just prefer to use Holmes' jab as my jab if I could "use" it.

Maybe, possibly the most consistent jab over 15 rounds was Larry Holmes.
