I once heard Wlad has been down 16 times...... in the Lewis vs Morrison fight Ian Darke said Morrison was down for the 10th time, then was decked 3 more times.

How many fighters can you think of that have never been down?

Daniel Alicea knocked Naz down, and off the top of my head I think Augie Sanchez did too (I can remember he gave Naz a bit of a scare whilst it lasted).

Lou Del Valle knocked down Roy Jones when Roy was still superman.

Henry Cooper knocked down Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali, as we've constantly been reminded for the past 40 odd years.

yes it was. Left hook, Mike was turning away to the side from it, but it landed and he went down on his arse. Knockdown IMO.

He did although it wasn't counted. Sanchez gave him a bloody good go and Jim Watt was well pissed off with it not being ruled a KD:lol:

Anyway, Naz destroyed him and effectively ruined his career. Bad performance, savage stoppage.

Alicea did knock Naz down, similar KD to the Sanchez one as well. He also suffered the same fate:lol:Much better performance that one though, and another brutal stoppage.

To be fair though, most of Naz's knockdowns were balance related, and even those that were 'legitimate' kd's might've been prevented by a more orthodox style and better balance.

But, as we came to see, implementing that ultimately restrained Naz as a fighter.

But thats' another thread  :good

I completely agree with this :good
In fact, a lot of the punches that Naz did take (particularly the later part of his career) weren't really anywhere near as bad as they actually looked, as you say, it was more to with Naz's balance and unorthodox positioning that made a lot of punches look worse than what they were.

Jeff Thomas still posts as Jeff Thomas. This guy is an imposter and a charlatan and I demand he admits his lie or accepts a duel to the death. Weapons of his choice.
