Yes I got "Ran" Rashomon" and "Seven Samurai". Excellent. I also have this great (I am told) Japanese version of "The Unforgiven". It came from England, but apparently over there they only play in different regions. I never heard of that. Here in the U.S. they play all USA versions. So my Eng. Copy won't play. Bummed out man. Can't find one in U.S.

    Books?

I'd argue morals but that's highly subjective. Cultural values change alot of things

Leonard, then Hearns then Hagler than Duran. And Benitez also.. In that order.

Where? Are there cinema classic forums like for boxing?. Or even better, books? And, how would I find some like that on the internet?

You're probably right on the books. Somehow I didn't consider them. They seem more like a constant compared to everything else. Maybe I'd specify it to great literature / fiction.

The lounge we have here is actually weirdly full of some serious cinephiles. There's always a film thread, from the great to the obscure.

Hagler for mine without necessarily rating him as high as a fighter and admitting all 3 have justified great legacies.

Retired at the right time, made no comebacks, had no embarrassing past prime losses and retains his all-time rep as one of boxings baddest, toughest mofo's. Even the loss he ended on is so controversial it doesn't detract from his reputation.

Monzon is pretty similar to Hagler as a precursor but he was such a scumbag outside the ring that his legacy is tarnished because of that. Hagler doesn't have such baggage.

Duran has the greatest legacy I've always felt that Hagler holds a special place in a sense because he never cameback. He never lowered himself to fighting walkout fights or being driven into the canvas by a Hector Camacho or Uriah Grant.
No images burned in our brains of Marvin Hagler being saved by a merciful referee while a fighter who couldn't carry his bag celebrates.

    They all have great legacies.

If I have to pick one, I'll go with Leonard because he beat all three of the other members of 'the big four,' and Benitez, who some have included in 'the big five.'

Hagler. Never knocked out at any point in his career, whereas both Duran & Ray at some point lost by stoppage (Hearns/Duran) & Ray/Camacho, plus a horrible draw with Hearns II and took a thorough boxing lesson & beating from Norris.

Always on the victim side of controversial decision, never the beneficiary. Regardless of countless great 1st rounds, he is associated with the Greatest 1st Round in the History Of Boxing.

Never came out of retirement to get embarrassed. His legacy as shown on the thread Bboxers who got endorsements/commercials saw Hagler rep for Pizza Hut, Diet Coke and Deodorant.
