I think there are mental issues with Fighters not to get Ko'ed when fighting Manny and that happened with Cotto and Clottey.

Cotto left his game plan and he was mashed for 2/3 of the fight until the stoppage and Clottey went into his shell from the get go and left with a bruised mid-section and near clear face.

But even though Cotto got TKO'ed and Clottey lost a UD Washout whose fight is of more value to their career? (Sorry if this has been asked) :yep

The Cotto win is far more significant for Pacquiao. Clottey is a guy who never wins against the elite. Cotto has the ability to win against the elite and so that win means more. Clottey just showed up for a paycheque and is enjoying the money he's counting right now. He can go fade into Bolivia if he wants, which is clearly all he was after.

Cotto performed better than Clottey IMO, and the Cotto win is of greater value to Pacquiao.

Cotto came out, tried to impose himself and win the fight, and was outgunned. But he managed to win a round or two before the fourth round effectively finished him.

Clottey's defensive style meant he was a punchbag.

Cotto. After getting outjabbed in the first round Pacquiao figured him out, ate his shots, and had him in retreat mode. No doubt Cotto won a round or two. Didnt see the Clottey fight and hope not to.

Cotto. Much better win on the record than Clottey.

    you guys misunderstood the question.

Cotto going down as a warrior was better for his career than Clottey not taking any chances. Now Cotto is being rewarded with a title fight while Clottey is probably off the radar for a while.

However I would love to see Clottey right back in the mix with some top10 fighters like that IBF titleholder or Andre Berto or Luis Collazo in a NYC showdown.

No one's gonna pay to see Clottey fight after that miserable performance. He's done.

Cotto was a more exciting fight and memorable and Cotto is seen as the better fighter.

Cotto, easily. At least he tried. Clottey turned down a fight with a gatekeeper prior to the Clottey fight because it was going to be shown on FX or something, he said he was an "HBO fighter"...not a chance in hell now.

The win over Cotto. Neather Cotto or Clottey realy had any real chance of beating Pacuiao. As far as their skill and talent leavels goes. I would rate Clottey and Cotto at about the same level. Very very good but not as good as Pacquiao. It is said that styles makes fights. It is not so much what I like about Cotto's style but what I don't like about Clottey's style. I'm sure the turttle shell style defense has some good use in a boxing ring, but it should not be your primary defense. Espacialy against a boxer like Pacquiao who has a lot of stanama, and throws a lot of punches. I am very confedent that no judge has honestly gave a round to a guy who has his hands stuck to his own head. Defense wins fights. However you need to have some offence as well. Secondly espacialy facing a boxer like Pacquiao punches are going to get past the arms. The turttle shell might work on an opoent with poor stanama but on Pacquiao it won't work.
