Hops was 36 and Calzaghe is 35. Tito was undefeated and so is Kessler.

IMO Calzaghe beating Kessler is far more impressive than Hopkins' beating Tito but that is just my opinion.

    What about yours?

    Beating Kessler was more impressive.

The only people who think that Tito win was more impressive are the clueless idiots who actually thought Tito was gonna win in the first place (90% of Americans)

If you take it in context of the opinions of the time, it would obviously be Hopkins win. But in hindsight I think most would probably agree that Kessler is a much more formidable fighter at this kind of weight range than Trinidad is.

Tittie was a natural welterweight, Hopkins a natural lightheavyweight.. i think this one goes without saying.

This is why P4P rankings are flawed. Tito is a 1 dimensional, former Welterweight-Light Middle, who was not in the least bit a truly formidible MW.

I find the Kessler win more impressive, because Kessler is an elite natural SMW, P4P ranked or not(he ought to have been regardless).

Believe it or not KESSLER is 1 dimensiol too, yet extremely strong. The Hops fight was pure domination.

Kessler was a better fighter than Tito at each point in their respective carrers but Hopkins dominated every phase of that fight where Calzaghe at times was losing the exchanges.

It really depends on what kessler goes on to do but as of right now I'd say hopkins over Tito. NOt trying to take away from Joe's win which was excellent but Tito is a much higher caliber fighter than kessler from what I have seen from the 2 of them

Exactly what I was going to type. Plus Tito had beaten better comp leading up to the fight....and Hopkins was a BIG UNDERDOG going into it. Joe on the other hand was the favorite.

Tito maybe a higher caliber fighter than Kessler - IN A P4P SENSE.

But Kessler as SMW is so much better than Tito as MW.

I would understand Tito-BHop and JoeC-Lacy as the two unifications with tremendous, masterful performances from one fighter ( despite Bernard kayoed Tito and Joe knocked down Lacy in the 12th) and the two opponents were expected to be levelled... Nobody other than Kessler's supporters thought this could go either way so that's the difference. Moreover and considering that 160-168 pounds is about the same and Super doesn't really mean that but just that you can't make it under 160 lbs, Bernard was immediately put in prospect to become nº1 P4P and Joe is not - that's why I say that Joe has to beat Bernard to CEMENT his status and legacy, he wouldn't achieve as much by beating Pavlik which I think he would do much easier too.
