Stressful on Pacquiao? Algieri didn't ask for it. Pacquiao did. Why competitively disadvantage yourself, intentionally?
It's like when Oscar fought 2pounds at 150 before his eventual floyd rematch which would take place at 147.
Pacquiao could have won his first sanctioned world title at JWW if he would have just fought at 140 pounds, where Algieri is ranked, as opposed to WW where Algieri has never notched a notable victory at or near the top level. Don't understand the catch weight at all and haven't ever since it was announced.
You are truly a hater... this man never got over Pac whipping Barerra ass.. Why a catch weight? Why not? With 17 official weight divisions and 4 major belts that makes a total of 68 major belts. With minor belts, lineal belts, and ring belts we are easily into 100 "champs"... Do any of these belts matter? Not really.. so two fighters wanna fight.. pick your weight if you have the leverage, as long as your not draining guys or dragging them up past their limits.. This fight does neither.. fight on and **** off...
it is a hate thread these idiots are trying to attack pacquiao any chance they get I bet you they wouldn't criticize their own fighters fighting at a catch weight.and besides its all ready been explained why there is a catch weight.pac wants to move down to 140 this is an experiment to see how it goes.if it goes well then he will fully move down to 140.
Then he can monitor how close to 140lb he gets on his own for ****s and giggles if he wants. That explains nothing. Why force Algieri to come in under 144lbs for a 147lb title match?
People were having hizzy fits when pac was doing it not knowing that it was done countless of times before. Even fl0mos joined the bashing only to learn later that floyd would ask catchweights himself. With so much belts nowadays, catchweights are immaterial as long as both sides agreed to the weight and more importantly they actually made the agreed upon weight.
It's not a big deal that it's at 144 as opposed to 147. It's a big deal that the fight isn't at 140, where Algieri actually has one good win and has fought at before... At Welter, Algieri is nothing. EDIT: And he hasn't done enough or looked good enough that his "P4P credentials" compensate for the lack of anything above 140. --- And dayum, the pro-Pacquiao-butthurt is strong in here today. And for no reason, too.
I agree fuk the belts they mean nothing Pacquiao is bigger than any belt.I laugh my ass off when people pretend like pacquiao is the only fighter in the world who fights at a catch weight.
Just for the sake of super fights. oscar went down for the catchweight to fight pacquiao. canelo did that 152 catch weight to fight floyd. Mayweather went down in weight to 144 to fight marquez
its not no one gives a sh!t stop with the fake outrage.did you just start watching boxing yesterday catch weight fights aren't anything new.I want to see you b!tching and moaning when canelo fights cotto for the lineal middleweight title at a catch weight.
Cotto and Sergio fought for the MW title at a 159 catchweight. Sergio and Williams fought for the MW title at a 158 catchweight. Of course they are nothing new. I don't even think you read what I typed at all because your response is as random as they come. I'm saying that Pac should have fought Algieri at 140 for his title. The fight is far less attractive up at WW on virtue of Algieri not having a single relevant win at WW.
