The thing is in the early rounds Guzman was doing a good job of slipping/blocking nearly all of Funekas work and landing very crisp shots of his own. He had far more quality for the first half of the fight. So he won on the clean effective punching and ring generalship stakes. And early on he was the 1 coming forward landing cleaning and backing Funeka up because of those clean shots so he had the effective aggression.

the day after the fight, i read the article about the fight and it seemed that ali funeka was robbed big time. now after watching the fight i think HBO need to start looking for new comentators, and not people who agree with everyone else commentating. its as if they are scared to say something against someone. and lederman needs to go see an optician, either that or he was watching the wrong fight. by the way i scored it a draw.

    1- Guzman
    2- Guzman
    3- Funeka
4- Guzman - this was a close round, but guzman did the better work
5- Guzman - funeka finished the round well but guzman controlled it for 2.30.
6- Guzman - he beat funeka up on the inside and somehow they lederman gave it to ****eka.
7- Funeka- Guzman began to tire and funeka began to find it easier to land
    8- Funeka
    9- Funeka
    10- Funeka
    11- Funeka
    12- Guzman

I'm sorry man, but that is a horrible card....i had it 118-110 funeka...guzman got in a few times on the inside after round 2, but he was very ineffective, while he was eating short right hand shots from funeka on the inside......and the cleanest effective punch of the night was funeka jab.....anything from 118-110 to 116-112 funeka is reasonable....115-113 funeka is generous to guzman....114-114 is a joke...

Some also judge on momentum of the night and just on surprise of Funeka or even just what commentators say. Easy ti get wrapped up in watchin one man not the entire fight

Although I had Funeka winning this fight, I don't thinks it's unreasonable to score the fight a draw. My score was 7-5 Funeka and there were a couple of rounds that could have went the either way. Funeka on that night was the better fighter overall, but you're supposed to score the fight round by round. With that being said, to say it was an out an out robbery is somewhat foolish in my opinion. I believe I gave Guzman rounds 1,2,4,7,and 12. If you give Guzman the 3rd round I believe it was, you could easily score it a draw.

Though Guzman did get bloodied and battered fights are scored by rounds not damage. I too thought Funeka won but the draw does not make me scream robbery like many or GBP payoff.

If you read the comments across the board, many of the people rooting for Guzman (therefore, having their focus primarily or at least majoritively on him) scored it wide for Funeka - either with or wider than the judge who had it 116-112.

I had it 116-112 Funeka but I am not outraged and calling for an investigation or that GBP is paying judges. I think the draw is wrong but possible.

Well yeah, it's possible for those scores to be turned in without there being corruption afoot. It's also possible that there was. Even if there wasn't, they're still wrong enough to be pretty deplorable, and it reflects poorly on the sport that two such cards were turned in on the same night for the same bout.

Someone must have eye-****ed you something fierce. I guess Guzrun's bloody nose came from him digging for some gold between rounds, huh?
