The only good work Joan mustered was the body work. Which was nice for the 1st two rounds but he ended up bailing on what was working b/c Ali's Jab was finding it's mark. Joan really didn't mount anything signifigant in form of offesne after the initial two rounds. I do agree with your comment on fans scoring a fight "round by round"....b/c a fights outcome can be very different than it looks when you don't score a fight...round by round.

I like the fact that you use several points to make your argument, but how could anyone think Guzman won that fight. The American judge, Pasquale, had it 116-112 which was a very good card. Don't know what the hell the Canadian judges were watching.
Funeka dominated from round 3 on, with maybe one or two close rounds for Guzman down the stretch. Guzman showed heart, but I think everyone was very surprised when the decision was announced.

Man, what the **** is this bull****?

You talk about Guzman's defense, but what about how ineffective he was against Funeka who blocked plenty of shots himself, and the ones that DID get through didn't DO **** to Funeka.

He walked threw them like they were mosquito bites.

    What a bull**** thread.

Funeka was dominating this fight with his jab. Guzman had no answer for it. Funeka was doubling, trippling, countering, and overall ****in Guzman up with it.

Funeka was whippin his ass so bad, I was thinkin that Guzman's corner should stop the fight because it was OBVIOUS he couldn't hurt Funeka and Funeka was getting stronger as the rounds progressed.

Any dumb mother ****er that thought Guzman won is a dumb mother ****er because they probably also think that Guzman should have a rematch.

What an idiotic thought that would be considering Guzman was takin way too much punishment and rematch wouldn't prove **** except that Guzman has balls.

Cuz he CAN'T HURT FUNEKA. And FUNEKA was whippin his ass.

I had Taylor winning both fights.

In fight one, Hopkins did absolutely zero through the first half of the fight.....Hopkins actually did'nt show up until the latter half......

If I remember correctly, Jermain took just about every round through 6 or 7 rounds......Jermaine then slows down a bit, and Hopkins works his way back winning most of the late rounds but to late on my card.....

From my recollection I had Taylor winning by about 3 points.

Man, B Hop woulda knocked Taylor out if there was one more round.

Taylor didn't do **** to Bernard for the first half of the fight but show some flash.

Bernard was blockin most of those shots, and even if you wanna give the first half to Taylor, Bernard won the second half with an explanation point.

I second that. While the fight was competitive and fun to watch, Dawson won that fight clearly.

I think people really wanted a feel good Johnson win.

I am Jamaican btw just like Glen Johnson:good

If you look at the overall picture you could definitely say that Hopkins hurt Taylor and Taylor did not hurt Hopkins.
........that however is not how you come out with the winner of a boxing contest.

A proffesional judge turns in a scorecard for each round.
At the end of the fight, all 12 scorecards for each round are tallied up, and the winner is decided by that......who did the judge have more points for???

The Taylor-Hopkins fights were pretty simple to score.
When Hopkins was'nt active and producing single digits in connects along with an atrocious workrate, he was losing those rounds plain and simple.
.....and those types of rounds were of plentitude in both fights for Hopkins.

Easy fight to score from my perspective and on my card Taylor winning pretty clearly.

So you're sayin that ineffective aggression wins fights? Aren't you a Floyd fan?

    ****...

Hopkins won at least 6 rounds and whupped Taylor's ass in the process. Really, there are 10 points for a reason and judges need to be more liberal with the numbers because it really ****s a guy over when some of the rounds are incredibly close, and some clearly aren't, but there is no knockdown.

    BUT,

Regardless in this situation, I think Hopkins won enough rounds to take the fight and the ass whuppin Taylor received at the end was just icing on the cake.

At the same time, I can see where you're comin from when you bring up a fight like this because there are plenty of people on both sides of the fence.

In relation to Guzman vs Funeka though, not only was Funeka dominating the fight, but it was getting to the point to where I thought that Guzman's corner needed to throw the towel in because it was obvious that nothing Guzman was throwing was doing anything to Funeka, and Funeka was getting stronger as the rounds progressed, thus causing a great deal of damage to basically a helpless opponent.

So whoever brought up Taylor vs Hopkins, I don't get it...

This fight was clear. Guzman has some balls, but he doesn't have enough power, and his management made a mistake choosin a guy with Funeka's physical attributes and style.

    Respect though...

    Me a Mayweather fan?:lol::lol::lol:

Believe me, I'll be rooting for Pacquiao if that fight happens, but I'm just not seeing how Pacquiao is going to emerge victorious.

I've got mad respect for Mayweather's abilities however.....got the same respect for Mr. Hopkins.
Mayweather however has a better gauge imo of what it takes to bank rounds.

You just cant bank on two or three effective jabs in a round where you landed in single digits, to win you a round where your opponent was busy and fighting aggressively.

We dont agree and thats OK, but imo Taylor in both fights clearly was effective enough to win the early rounds hands down.

Hopkins did'nt even give himself a chance to win those early rounds and thats a shame.
