Why all the excuses? AJ just isn’t what everyone suggested he was.

    lets be honest

Ruiz was able to capitalize on several weaknesses that AJ showed in previous fighs but nobody could sustain or everyone was too afraid to try. Why is everyone trying to make these excuses for him. Concussions. Mental breakdown. His jock strap didn’t fit. All of that is BS. Ruiz beat him fair and square without any excuses and it showed throughout the fight. Majority of the fight Ruiz was in control. All Ruiz proved was AJ isn’t what we thought he was, even if AJ managed to win the rematch the AJs flaws still exist.

AJs debatable chin - AJ was put off balance vs wilder, whyte, Povetkin and it’s rumored he has been stopped in sparring several times.

AJs poor stamina - in almost every single fight he’s been in this dude gets tired in the middle rounds.

AJs over rated power - as AJ continues to climb the ranks his power has looked less impressive. Takam should have went the distance. Parker also went the distance. AJ has power but his strength is in his accumulation punching. Not his pure power.

AJs over rated boxing tech - he visually looks like he’s got a lot of skill but when you look deeper into his skill, a lot of the intangibles skills in boxing Joshua isn’t rewlly great at. He’s not extremely accurate. He’s not great at feinting. He’s not a particularly excellent jabber. Ruiz was able to take advantage of all of these things

AJs non killer temperament - the reality of AJ is he wants to be this intellectual break down artist but he’s simply not that talented. He’s not a HW sugar ray Leonard or Floyd. All of his physical gifts would support him being an athletic walk down artist but his temperament is that of a gentleman and not a stalker.

AJ just wasn’t what everyone thought he was. Plain and simple.

I‘m an ardent supporter of the brute with the lovely speech patterns from Alabama but I think some fans are going over the top.

Yes, Joshua and Hearn deserve this backlash but some guys are acting as if Joshua is a complete bum now, he isn‘t, he is still a top 5 fighter who beats most guys in the heavyweight division, he just isn‘t the invincible force of nature Joshua fanboys thought he was.

Right, when fighters face the best competition, they will lose some fights. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it either. The Mayweather, Ottke, Marciano, Ward, etc are incredibly rare and all have several debatable decisions and outcomes on their records. Because they fought the best.

This is what happens on this forum all the time though. A fight happens and then a bunch of ridiculous threads and comments appear. It's like panning for gold trying to find decent posts.

Every HW fight can end with one punch. Any weight class actually. Joshua will be back.
Ruiz just capitalized on his chance and made history. Good **** homie.

    Time will tell.

If Joshua goes out and blitzes ruiz in the rematch (which is as possible), then defends against Pulev which is a fight he would look good in, everyone will say he just had an off night and it was a fluke.

If you have followed boxing for any length of time, you know talking in absolutes is foolish.

Everyone wrote Ruiz off, they were wrong

Now those same people want to write Joshua off after one loss where he knocked the guy down and was one or two shots from winning by 3rd round ko?

Klitschko got smacked all over the ring 3 times, he was wrote off

Lewis got knocked unconscious by a journeyman plodder, he was wrote off

David Haye got KTFO by 40 year old domestic journeyman, he was wrote off

    Do you not learn?

99 percent have no life and will never amount to anything. That is why they need TV heroes to idolize to began with. The build somebody who they don't need up and make that person rich. Then they hero worship the person they made rich. The person who they made rich will look down on them after they made them rich and these people will keep hero worshiping these people.

This is why Mike Tyson fans will make excuses for him when he lost. This is why these sad Rocky Marciano fans will still tell you that a 5'10 185 pound fighter from the 40's and 50's could beat modern sized heavyweights. That is why these people get so upset when you say anything bad about their TV heroes.

But yeah Anthony Joshua wasn't anything special. You can read my post before he got knocked out by fat dough boy Andy Ruiz. The thing is Anthony Joshua isn't even athletic. He is just a guy who has muscles. He isn't fat or quick. He doesn't have good balance or footwork. He was just fortunate enough to be in weak era for heavyweights. Similar to Wladimir Klitschko but at least Wlad has some athleticism.

Joshua's best two wins so far were against a old timid Wlad who would of stopped him if he was more aggressive and wasn't afraid to be hit. Then he beat old Alexander Povetkin. It was a matter of time he got exposed as a fraud. Just like Deontay Wilder will be. Deontay Wilder's best win were was over a old 50 year old obese Luis Ortiz in a fight he struggled in. Now he is fighting that same old Luis Ortiz again. The heavyweight division is a complete joke.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I never thought AJ was a great but I thought he was pretty good. And I also think this loss is overblown. He can comeback.

If he goes out and blitzes Ruiz in a rematch it mean he's improved, not that the first fight was a fluke.

I’ll tell you what else he isn’t - he isn’t on the Jimmy Kimmel show tonight.

AJ came to America to become a star and made the fat boy into one.

Begining to think hes always been overrated.
You make some great points especially with regards to his weaknesses in his previous fights
