I had Clottey winning by 1 point so I can't argue with someone who saw one of the close rounds I scored for Clottey as a round Cotto managed to steal so I'm OK with a split decision. But Clottey was the better boxer and looked a lot more impressive throughoout the bout than Cotto did. I think his stock rises as a result of this fight and Cotto's goes down a bit. If that was Mayweather in against Cotto last night Cotto woulda lost a wide UD. Clottey seemed a lot quicker than Cotto, Cotto actually looked pretty slow and I don't think he's the same fighter he was before Margarito, someone with speed and great footwork will beat him....**** I think Pac might beat now and before this fight I thought Cotto would Ko Pac with ease.
I dont hate Cotto. But he got beat up. ran at the end to survive and recieved a gift wrapped plate of home cookin'
AMEN BROTHA! well said, i couldnt agree more...Cotto fought his heart out and did what he had to do to win the fight. There should be no hating on that! My questions is why couldnt clottey finish cotto off with such a disadvantage?
Cotto out boxed Clottey it is as simple as that. It was a close fight in which Cotto fought blind in one eye most of the night yet still brought the fight to Clottey, Clottey never brought the fight to Cotto, that is why he lost.
I had Cotto by 114-113. I agree that he won the boxing match but he did not "beat" Clottey. He never really hurt Clottey and Clottey was landing some flush shots on Cotto (the cut didn't help of course) but he didn't maintain the workrate enough to win on points. He should've gone all out in the 12th but he lost it and it cost him the fight imo. Close fights like these will always be controversial and up for debate. Great fight!
I thought Cotto had the slight edge in round by round scoring. Plus he fought with a bad cut that definitely played a role. He toughed it out instead of taking the ***** way out which he could have at any time and won a decision. But he dug down. Clottey on the other hand was looking for a way out at every opportunity. He wanted to quit on numerous occasions and didn't punch or go for the win when it was right there for him.
haha he outboxed him yet got outlanded busted up to the face struggled to land anything clean on clottey and got eaten up inside? Yeah thats outboxed not outboxing
yea props to clottey for using his head as a battering ram f***king douche he's lucky he caused that cut with his big head cause he would have had a long night.
