I don't know if Joe draws the same heat as Roy all-time, but certainly right now he's more of a lightning rod.

yes it has everything to do with him being gifted and nothing to do with personality and attitude :patsch riiiight...

personally i used to dislike roy but have come to somewhat root for him.. though i was rooting for tito in that match.

His complete lack of true grit and heart in the third tarver fight put a bad taste in my mouth though to be honest... but i will say this, i think hes the best announcer around.

Being truly gifted seems to make some of those guys utter assholes. THAT is why they are hated not because they are just so good.

I'm not a fan of Calzaghe as I believe he has been protected his entire career up until he fought Kessler. I've no doubt that had he fought in the USA a few years ago he wouldn't be undefeated. I also think Tarver has the tools to blow him away...which is why Calzaghe will never fight Tarver.

That said, Calzaghe showed enough against Kessler an the aged Hopkins to suggest that he does bring a decent fight to the table. To beat Calzaghe you either need to outscore him in at least 7 rounds or KO him (obviously)

I don't believe Jones has the game (at present) to out score JC due to the fact that Jones will undoubtedly be fighting off the counter, looking for the powershots in an attempt to take him out.

Is Jones quick enough to land the clean powershots required?

I agree with everything you said, but RJJ is not the best announcer, I have listened to him since the early 2000's when he started on HBO. He tends to put in his foot in his mouth quite often, while also promoting his lame cd's on air, Body Head Bangers coming out june whatever go cop it, and he said it a few times throughout the couple months it came out. He also said he would knockout Wlad, and that his chin wouldnt stand up against his punches. He also said Wlad would never win another title again, 2 years later he did just that. Tarver is a better commentator as well, he knows his **** and has a good personality overall.

I still think Calzaghe should fight Tarver, since Tarver is more relevant then Jones and holds an ABC belt. Also Tarver isn't fighting Dawson and is free to fight anyone.

WTF when did boxing get a ****ing senior tour? It's a complete sham.

What are we going to see for the next five years? Jones, Winky, Hopkins, Trinidad, Calzaghe and Vargas all fighting each other, with the winner strapping on a Ring Magazine "belt" and lipping to the camera that he's the best out there?

Jones has got nothing left. Calzaghe's right on the edge. Fans need to wake up sometime.
