Heart to me, is getting up if put down and wanting to continue through no matter what. Heart can also be coming through in a tough fight. But to me, getting up even when losing and wanting to continue is heart to me.
Um its not just OLD fighters...its OLD Hall Of Famers...the sport of boxing has always been driven on NAMES...it wont stop now or ever.... Who do u think is more capable of a sell out crowd? Jones or Pavlik....??? Who can get more PPV #'s? who will the casual boxing fan pay to see?.......
so roy doesnt have heart ? Him wanting to fight the UNDEFEATED p4p#2 fighter in the world isnt heart?:huh
better math in terms of what?..excitment? legacy? Money? PPV #'s? explain....who has Pavlik beat? Taylor?...wow one name I think pavlik is good but let him defend his title 2 or 3 times ......all he has is Taylor on his resume....sheesh RJJ ATG
Fans who try to focus on and try to talk about "Legacy fights" are ****in full of ****. They think it SOUNDS intelligent....yawn...
RJJ a couple of years older and has no major injuries or problems. Calzaghe is also out of his prime and has brittle hands, so he probably won't even give ROY anything to worry about. Roy still probably faster hands which Calzaghe has never faced before, let alone someone as fast. He's used to winning fights with his speed, not being on the back foot with someone elses, that could easily overwhelm him. Roys got better ring intelligence and tactics, and will go in with a much better game plan than Calzaghe. Calzaghe doesn't prepare so well, and only adapts in the ring, sometimes when it's nearly to late. Roy has a good shot at winning, he's surprised people before, and finds ways to win even with what's he's got, which is still immense ability, boxing brain, tactics, intelligence and determination.
who did calzaghe beat in his long wonderful career that were better than taylor? its kind of sad, pavlik took a bigger risk in his title fight/first defense than calzaghe ever did in his 15+ years in boxing with twenty something "title" defenses.
RJJ is WELL past his prime and not even a top 20 p4p boxer in any reasonable list. Cal may be past his prime but he's still effective and a top 5 p4p fighter. . . Pav is in his prime and a top 10 fighter. This match simply is more meaningful, expect for maybe the money wich is clearly the reason why Cal wants RJJ.
roy is done man. calzaghe might as well fight my boy castillo rofl he'll make 175 no prob. go jose :bbb
