This may, or may not, shake out once Taylor faces Abraham. Taylor has disappointed lately. I just don't know if his head and heart are in this anymore. Taylor was in the center of the ring asking Froch for a rematch so I'm hoping to hell he damaged in that fight. Abraham is still unknown at 168. Will he fight at a higher pace with more energy? This is his only chance against Taylor. Wear him down, cuz Taylor is going to pile up points all night against the 160 version of AA. If he does just enough to win rounds, he won't gas against THAT version. The quesion is, will AA be more active at 168?
So because there was a frontpage article that provides personal thoughts of someone you will agree with it "says it all"? Hey, there are endless articles and videos of Saurland claiming Abraham wants none of them, that "says it all" too. Look, Arum and Pavlik mentioned countless excuses. Money, not popular enough, needs to fight in the US more and a lot of other junk yet they considered Sturm who also had ONE fight in the US like Abraham. If Pavlik asked them to wait and focused on other better/similar options then I'll agree but that's not the case and the division is clearly lacking. Abraham moving up to be surrounded by elite competition proves that their claims of wanting the Pavlik fight were very serious.
What you say in the press and what you say at the negotiating table are two different things. Saurland came to the US to talk to Arum about the fight. Arum didn't tell him Abraham didn't deserve what he asked for, he just said the money wasn't there. BIG DIFFERENCE. There was ONE fight to be made at middle weight. In the end it wasn't made because of Abraham's weight issues. That fight deserved to be big but the general public didn't give a rat's ass about it. THAT is pretty much fact. Do you believe for one second that Arum didn't shop that fight to HBO and know what kind of money was on the table for it? Seriously?
Blame Pav's big mouth trainer. Loew did all the talking for Pav saying Pav would beat Cal if they fought, and that Cal ducked him of all people...Loew also said that Pav would be the first to stop Hop...only to be embarrassed by Hop, and that AA would be easy work. He never fought Cal, lost to Hop badly, and never did fight AA in the only MW fight that mattered. Pav has a lot of convincing to do, and beating a ww champion who fights in 3 divisions might be a start.
You can also blame his fans on this forum for talking shite, and having an excuse at to why Kelly Pavlik is right, and why everyone else is wrong.
The reason why it didn't happen ISN'T because of Abraham's issue with weight. Abraham has been calling out Pavlik even before he signed to fight Hopkins and kept getting ignored. The last response was a clear indirect **** OFF when they told Abraham to get more popular yet considered Sturm. They were serious enough about Sturm so HBO showed them what kind of money they will put for that, nothing came out regarding a fight with Abraham because the talks didn't get serious enough from Arum's side.
Good points but I would pick Pavlik to destroy Froch. Also, to be fair, Pavlik was at least moving up in weight to make a fight with Calzaghe possible so he was very serious for that one.
This idea that Abraham is "stepping up" is laughable. If the tourney comes off as planned Abraham will fight: Jermain Taylor, a two time Pavlik victim who lost 3 of his last 4 fights. Andre Dirrell, a mere prospect who will probably be coming off a loss to Froch. Carl Froch, a man who is so easy to hit he gets mad when you miss him. Stepping up my ass. It's the same old Sauerland/Abraham scam; talk a ton of ****, and then fight the easiest available opponents. However, I will admit that the above list of opponents is a lot better than Abraham's norm. There are no bartenders or bus drivers in the tournament.
Blah blah blah . . . what ever you say PBF didn't fight Margarito and you cannot change the fact with excuses, :deal And you are jumping on Pavlik's back for not fighting Abraham? Remove PBF's dick from your mouth. :yep :rofl :rofl :rofl
So the tournament now is a "scam" but Pavlik/Lockett, Pavlik/Rubio, Pavlik/Zuniga are all world class stuff. :rofl This tournament which is considered one of the best things to happen in boxing in a LONG time is a scam?, why?, because Pavlik isn't involved? Your nuthugging is going too far and is slowly transforming you into a clueless troll. Take Pavlik's dick out of your mouth already and wake the **** up. Pavlik is the scam who literally **** on the Middleweight division since he won the title. For God's sake the man was trying to get a fight with Mayorga till HBO turned it down and accepted a fight with Hopkins if they wanted to take it.
He wasn't "exposed" against Hopkins, he was at a severe weight advantage. However, it is true that against a good boxer with stamina, he is going to look stupid.
