Why all the hate for Kellerman? Let's start with the fact that unlike qualified commentators like Larry Merchant, Steve Farhood or Al Bernstein, he never worked as a boxing journalist prior to getting handed a job at ESPN. Nor did he have any in-ring experience as a participant or trainer, like say, Emmanuel Steward or Roy Jones. No, Kellerman is some punk, plucked from cable access obscurity for no reason other than his wealthy family knew Bill Cayton, who sacked the great Al Bernstein at ESPN to put this unqualified twerp on the air. To be a good boxing commentator requires seasoning, and paying dues in the trenches, something this punk will never have. He should go back to making no-talent rap videos, and talking **** on cable access, It's exactly where he belongs.
He's not great, but Lampley is far worse. Kellerman has at least some knowledge, Lampley is a just a fanboy. Merchant isn't even worth mentioning at this point.
They really sacked al b for kellerman? That's a damn shame. Only thing I like about showtime's presentation is al's commentating.
Hasnt done anything??:huh Olympic silver medallist at 17 Commonwealth champ at 20 WBA Champ at 22 IBF champ at 24 One of his losses was against a guy who failed a drugs test afterwards. Yeah....what a bum. As for Kellerman, I see nothing wrong with him. Far prefer him to Lampley
Possibly, but I bet he knows how to properly spell "he's," and I'd wager good money that he's intelligent enough to put periods at the end of his sentences.
He's got too much mouth, and it can be at the worse time in a broadcast at that. The guy has done some decent research on the sport no doubt so I'll give him credit for that. Other times all I get from him is blah, blah, blah and more blah, blah, blah, about blah. Makes me really love the mute button.
he is a good man with herpes. besides that, who knows why the hate he got them herpes tho, look at themm lips! eww
