Yes,his big mouth is really annoying.Taking pride in beating a shot and weight drained Roy is the thing that ticks me the most. And Roy did beat you once Antonio. Hope Dawson knocks him out.
He's got a big mouth and he KO'd Roy. Get over it. I don't like Tarver at all but the hate is way too much.
mostly it is the Glass Jaw Roy fans mad because Tarver brutally KOed Roy and then made him look like a complete joke in the 3rd fight.
i personally dont like him because he has made his name off roy jones. I feel that when you beat a man you only beat him, you do not consume his whole career which is what i think tarver tries to imply. In other words roy is a HOF certain whereas tarver won't ever make it.
I dont hate Tarver I just dont think much of him. I think the 175lb division is better off without him though, he is slowing things down.
Because he's only been truly beat 2wice ... Hopkins and Dawson ... other fights have been highly controversal and he's been on the wrong end of the tracks each loss. Add to that he always victimizes himself whenever he loses.
Roy Jones easily beat him in their first fight. The only reason people seem to think it was close was because Tarver looked better than everyone prior. Also as someone else said. Tarver acts like because he beat Roy, all Roys accomplishments fall onto him.
He's a very underrated fighter - "legacy wise" because I think he's one of the best light heavyweights ever ... due to his inactivity and record ... doesn't grant much respect in the boxing world -- he has 32 total fights in a 13 yr career ... with only 2 world championships to show for it ... 19 yr old mexican kids have that many pro fights 3 yrs in their career ...
You forgot Eric Harding broke his jaw, which was a shame because winning that fight would have made him a mandatory for Jones in the year 2000
I disagree on that one ... Tarver beat Roy all three times ... it was a matter of politics the first time around ... because if you seen all 3 fights ... all 3 fights went the same way - except for the knock out in the second fight ... Jones uncharacteristically backing up against the ropes ... taking unnecessary shots and losing on points ...
