In my eyes there was a lot of drama when Tarver was pounding on Roy up against the ropes because that had never been seen before to that extent.... But it was too far and few in between.... He gave Roy too much time in the center of the ring (a lot of that was because he was so hesitant do to Roy's body attack IMO) It was close going into the 11th, which Roy showed heart and dominated him in that round and in the 12th.... Tarver ran those rounds and got caught up against the ropes himself.... It was a case of thinking Tarver won because of the drama, then looking at your scorecard and finding Roy ahead.
He was in a lot of pain with those bodyshots. Roy was almost landing at will those rights to the body.
I agree, and that fight was a great victory for Roy... Hopefully in the years to come people will realize... To be able to give up your belts, move up to heavyweight, win a belt, and go back down and re-gain your relinquished belts the very next fight.... That is greatness at its finest.:yep
I rewatched the fight and scored it a draw, no way did jones win easy when i first watched it i thought taver had won but i change my opinion to a draw. 10-9 tarver 10-9 tarver 10-9 jones (close) 10-9 jones 10-9 jones 10-9 tarver 10-9 tarver 10-9 tarver 10-9 jones 10-9 tarver 10-9 jones 10-9 jones
I just rewatched 6. Gotta be one of the clearest rounds for Jones. Also, Round 1 should of went to Jones. Besides Tarvers flurry he did absolutely nothing. You cant discount a whole round because noone expect Tarver to do that.
cause jones did nothing as well standing against the ropes letting a guy throw shots isn't winning a round.
you can't give jones rounds for standing about and trying to pose and then throw one or two pot shots.
Bull****. You need to rewatch 6. Roy lands a couple good bodyshots throughout the round as well as some good head shots later in the round. I know compubox isn't perfect but when you are only credited with 2 punches landed it says something. Roy controlled that round clearly. He went on the ropes when he wanted and got off when he wanted. He countered off the ropes as well.
You can't give Tarver rounds where he throws but lands nothing. Jones outlanded him in power punches in nearly every round except a few.
i just watched the whole fight twice in the last hour i don't need to rewatch anything, jones showed very little aggresion for the majority of the fight and was happy to sit back and throw a couple of potshots. I agree he hit tarver with some of the better shots but on imo it's a little bit like calzaghe and hopkins workrate against a few better quality shots.
i can do what i like its my opinion, you could do well try to stop trying to tell people what they know and stick to giving your opinion.
