NO sonnyboy my Idols are REAL fighters, fighters without excuse, fighters who fight anybody, even stepping UP out of there weight division, like real fighters used to do. Win or lose these lads proved perfectly well what they were made of! LLOYD MARSHALL Jersey Joe Walcott Ezzard Charles Jock McAvoy Bert Gilroy these ARE fighters, and to compare another Brit to Fury, lets consider Carl Froch who avoids No One and goes after the best, the very best, some of whom try to keep him at a distance. these son are Idols!
People who are saying he under-performed last night, or that his performance was not as good as other recent fights, seem not to acknowledge that he took a significant step up in quality of opponent by facing Steve Cunningham. People over-estimated his advantage over Cunningham from the outset. Cunningham is BY FAR the best opponent Fury has faced. Kevin Johnson was just a lazy spoiler at best. Dereck Chisora was fat and lazy when he faced Fury. Rogan ? Maddalone ? Punch-bags, plain and simple. Cunningham was a fit, relevant contender, coming off what should have been a WIN against Adamek last time out. Fury was as impressive as he's ever been. Proved he had a lot of heart and grit and he actually adapted well and found a winning strategy. I don't go along with the pundits who say he's best when boxing at range - he's never shown that against a skilled opponent, it's just theory. It was actually when he got on top of Cunningham and bullied him up close that the fight turned to his advantage. Of course he's not good enough to beat Wlad Klitschko. He ought to be a clear underdog against Kubrat Pulev too. But he's a better fighter than I thought he'd ever be, so I give him his due credit.
David Haye is quite clearly the best British HW, and he would no doubt beat all of those fat, old, lame sorry excuse for heavyweight Yanks, now wouldn't he? ****ing Yanks...In a nation of over 400 million people they haven't produced a decent heavyweight for over a decade!! AT HEAVYWEIGHT!! And they have a pop at the UK (a nation with a population 1/8th of U.S.A) who at least has had one genuine HW world champion within that time. Almost the entire population of the ****ing good ol U.S of A is morbidly obese and STILL those dumb ****s can't find a decent heavyweight boxer!! Jesus, I would have thought any of their welterweights/middleweights could simply visit their local MacDonalds and within an hour they'd be eligible to fight at heavyweight!! Please feel free to continue trolling, dummy, I love nowt better than griefing you Yank turds (or is it tards?).
All of our best big men are not anywhere near boxing, they are making millions in the NBA and NFL, our best heavyweights are third tier athletes who couldn't make it in the major leagues. And Tony Thompson ko'd Haye in sparring. Plus Arreola would beat Haye, Malik Scott Deontay Wilder Bryant Jennings
Froch is a good fighter for you guys, yeah one of your best. We saw what happened when he faced one of our best in Ward but at least he has guts I guess.
I will credit you that the NBA and NFL have some phenomenal athletes (I personally consider American Football to be the greatest team sport in the world and I am a huge fan). Fat man Arreola would not beat Haye and as for old man Thompson KO'ing Haye in sparring, pics, link or stfu!:bbb. I do believe that you are getting confused with Tony laying out David Price in what appeared to be a fairground exhibition bout that went wrong (just so you know, David PRICE is a tall, lean, white bloke and David HAYE is a shorter, more muscular, darker skinned chap).
Which is what I said! Carl Froch is the epitome of the phrase "Warrior". No doubt Andre beat Carl, but Froch would happily fight Ward another ten times!!
That was a 36 year old Cruiserweight who put Fury down like a sack of ****. Fury was also putdown by Pajkic. Fury will get it, and he won't be getting back up. He was all over the place last night, and my prediction was nearly perfect. It was more like watching Kevin Mitchell, he looked heavy on his feet and wide open for the first few rounds, then he started putting his guard up. After all his bravado ****, and after the knockdown, he didnt look quite the same in the eyes, he got rocked a few times, and stayed up by leaning all his weight on Cunningham. He got a point of for going in with the head, the excessive holding and pushing should of meant another, and the KO was disputable, because Fury was holding him up with the left before he came over with the right, however "defend yourselves at all times" obviously didnt apply to Cunningham right there and that was that. Fury should stand by his statement, and retire. Awful. Call Haye out at your mercy! I don't like Haye, but he will take Tyson Fury's head clean of.
Fury shouldn't retire, he's an exciting fighter. I enjoyed the fight, I'm not sure what the problem is people saying it was awful. Of course he was talking crap before the fight, but at least he came to fight. Yeah, he's a knock-out waiting to happen, no one would pick him to survive a Wlad Klitschko fight. I believe Pulev will KO him if they fight next. But I don't understand this logic that seems to be : if a fighter is not invincible and a certain world champion then he doesn't deserve credit and support. Even when he is out-classed, Tyson Fury will go out on his shield I'm sure. :good (and I say all this having said Tyson Fury was utter **** 3 or 4 years ago.)
I'm not saying Tyson Fury is not entertaining, he is. In and outside of the ring, but he is thick as pig ****. It will see him beat, no matter what **** he talks outside the ring. This guy is selling fights, I get that, but he is not the greatest of all time, he is not even the greatest gypsy fighter, never mind greatest of all time. He fights dumb, last night was probably the worst I've seen to be honest, he was all over the place. Last night, he looked heavy, he looked like he had one to many KFC's in New York, and that he banged his missus silly the night before. He looked in better shape against Johnson, his defence was non existent for most of the fight, and he got put down like a sack of **** by a Cruiserweight he claimed he would wipe the floor with all week, a fighter who was running scared, and a fighter that if he didnt destroy, he would retire. Well he didn't destroy him and he didnt look particularly great finishing the fight, apart from the KO punch and a body shot, he didnt hurt Cunningham all fight. Fair play, Tyson got up after the knockdown, he sucked it up, he did the same against Pajkic, but there is gonna come a time where he doesn't. The more you take, the more likely it is to happen. Its supposed to be hit and not get hit, and if he doesnt live and die by that, it will see him beat, he is simply not skilled, strong or naturally talented enough to be able to do what he was doing last night. He can't back it up and he gets caught flush. If he was to have gotten hit by a true Heavyweight, with all the weight and power behind it like Cunningham did last night. Its game over. He fought stupid and he will be the cause of his own downfall. Sparing Hughie Fury won't help either, Hughie is just starting out, and isn't Heavyweight build himself yet. Tyson swamps Hughie, and Tyson needs to be sparing proper Heavyweights, experienced Heavyweights, because thats what he is gonna face from now on. Not wannabe Heavyweights, or cruisers moving up, true Heavyweights.
