I've never seem to grasp why there's so many Roy Jones haters on these forums. Why? How many natural super middleweights go up and win a heavyweight title then move back down and win a light heavyweight belt? People seem to say he ducked numerous fighters. Nigel Benn - Don King's fault wanting to tie Jones down to his promotion. Dariusz Michalczewski - Why travel to Germany when your P4P number 1. Steve Collins - Turned down a career high payday of 3 million to fight Jones. Chris Eubank - Was never interested. Gerald Mcclellen - Injured but were on a collision course. Joe Calzaghe - The fella wasn't known outside of the UK until he beat an vastly over-rated Jeff Lacy. People say he had no chin but you take a punch a hell of a lot better when your in your 20s than you do when your at the wrong end of your 30s and weightdrained EG Tarver/Johnson New to this Forum but seen some serious Jones bashing on it never known the reasons people give him a hard time, The guy was the best ever super middleweight and one of the best light heavyweights there's been in his prime. Reasons welcome :thumbsup
He was a great fighter and was amazing to watch, but it seems he took steriods so he should have an astrix beside his name in the record books.
True he tested positive to a product you could get over the counter once but a don't think that could damage what he did in his prime years.
Your either getting me mixed up with someone else or your a complete ****ing idiot. Am guessing its both, Post a proper reply or quit posting.
He had 6 times over the maximum amount of testosterone that it is humanly posible for even the biggest studs to have. If they sell that over the counter I have to get me some of that. Then in other test he had normal levels of testosterone so if thats true Jones was a cheat and he should have an astrix beside his name from here on out.
Well to fail one drugs test shouldn't automatically mean that he's been a cheat over his entire career, It never seemed to affect his performances after the Hall fight. Was only after the weight loss that the guy went down like a brick in water. And really who is this headbanger fella and were has he escaped from?
Like a put in my post, You can take a punch a hell of a lot better when your in your 20s and very well conditioned then when your in your mid 30s and weight drained.
The simple answer is because he was the p4p king of boxing for so long. The only thing people like more than a success story with a fairy tale ending is a rise and fall story. its a combination of jealousy, envy, and negativity. These RJJ haters bash him every chance they get and feel the to go out of their was to start topics on him to further their cause. If they truly believed his career was all hype, they wouldnt even bother bashing him. These chinchecker clowns have more posts about RJJ than anyone.
Because he was a cherrypicking ducker and a Glass Jawed Fraud who avoided all of his contemporaries who posed the biggest threat to him and made none of the fights the fans wanted to see. His career was a dog-and-pony show in which he carefully manuevered through the divisions capturing vacant and/or trinket belts and he never proved an ounce of the outrageous claims that his nuthuggers throw out there. Maybe he was as good as his fanboys think, but there isn't an ounce of evidence against top competition to prove this, so you idiots will have to deal with some people not worshipping the ground on which he walks.
