I'm conused by all the new found attention khan is getting. I mean i can't lie I predicted DA to beat him. Khan dominated him big time in probably his best victory of his career but let's be real here.

Khan is the same guy who got KO'd against DSG and couldn't close out a fight vs Lamont Pederson.

    So I have 2 questions.

1- how is he that dude when he couldn't even clear out 140 and definitely can't clear out 147
2 - how is he supposedly the guy that can do the job vs floyd?

Because his goony fans are grasping at straws. Anything they can hold onto for dear life trying to convince themselves he'll be a world beater one day, but it'll all go up in smoke when his glass jaw is inevitably shattered once again.:-( And when it happens I'll be:rofl

Because his weakness isn't his technique, speed or style, it's his chin and defence.
Pretty sure he would get mauled if he's in there with Pac, probably even lose a Maidana rematch, but against current Floyd he would have a speed and output advantage.
He'll lose though, certainly in Vegas. But it probably would be close.

can you explain how? I see a lot of people just saying he has the style to beat floyd but nobody says why. People have been saying "fighter a" has the style to beat floyd for decades now and it doesn't seem to work that easy.

Keep dreaming pal, and I'm not that fond of Triple Duck as you like to idiotically refer to him as. As far as Klitschko goes he's already stopped his fair share of Americans, and that's not likely to chance in the near future.

Ok... Why was Maidana, Guerrero and Ortiz chosen? None of them cleaned out anything yet they got Floyd.

    IMO....

people are pretty quick to look at khans strengths but ignore his weaknesses. sub par footwork, 0 defense, obviously talc chin, does he even have head movement?

I just find it weird how people think floyd will just stand still RIGHT INFRONT OF AK and let amir khan throw 10000 punches at him. c'mon now lol

what's even more stupid is if floyd wins everyone will just say I knew amir khan was just a fraud.

i can't disagree there. Oritz, Guerro and Maidana did equally as much or less to get the floyd fight.

I would say for marketing purposes Guerro was undefeated, Maidana just beat the **** out of broner and ortiz beat the **** out of berto and made it exciting. Khan just beat DA but the fight sucked in all honesty, I was there and thought it would be way better but it wasn't. Sadly the **** is just about gimmicks at this level not the best fighting the best.

but i do agree with you.

It will be funny if floyd acutally does make the pac fight and floyd win's I can envision people saying floyd took teh pac fight cause he was ducking khan. smh

Khan has definitely improved under Hunter, he maybe more boring but that's what he has to do to succeed and he is now finally fighting in a style which suits him. He has become a more rounded fighter and he deserves credit for putting in the work to make these changes.

But lets be realistic here, his chances against Mayweather are slim. But he now has the speed and style to at least give Mayweather a decent fight which is all we can really hope for. Mayweather is number 1 for a reason, he's simply the best fighter of his generation and Khan for all his improvement hasn't shown he has reached the level necessary to beat even a past prime Floyd, anyone who thinks he has reached the level to beat Mayweather was probably saying the same before his loss to Garcia despite all his obvious flaws back then and their opinion is meaningless.

Hes been a "world beater" for about 5 years.
Theres nothing new to it. He won his first world title in 2009, when he schooled Kotelnik

If Khan doesn't fall into range with his flurries, he does put Floyd in the position of having to come forward because he is slightly lengthier and has more speed than Floyd. Floyd doesn't really like to step in and counter, he likes to catch his opponents before they punch or if they are within his range he rolls/ducks a few shots and comes back with the counter right or the check hook, neither of which he puts his full weight on since he never wants to overextend himself with his defensive mentality. So "in theory" Khan's speed and volume would trouble Floyd if he stayed perfectly on the edge of Floyd's range getting off his shots and then getting out. However, I personally don't see it either. If Khan had even an average chin, I'd give him a shot with that strategy, but he doesn't possess that. I think he probably outworks Floyd for a few rounds before Floyd times him, hurts him, and in a rarity, gets a stoppage win late in the fight.

There are a lot of British citizens on this board. Any time one of their fighters is even a little good they go ballistic. Europeans are pretty nationalistic, although I don't see any German fans extolling the greatness of their athletes.
