A Green-Bika fight was attempted to be made, but from all I have read, Bika pulled out of the negotiations.

Bute obviously couldnt be in it, and Pavlik has yet to fight at 168, and is looking to defend at 160

    Who else was there really?

I would have liked to see Green vs bika first because I feel bika would have beaten him but Green is one of the better guys they could have got seems Bute is with hbo. Maybe green could have fought brinkley

Pavlik has fought at, near, or above the SMW limit 14 times. His record in those fights is 13-1 (11 KO's.)

He wasn't invited to the tournament, and neither was Bute.

Abraham started the tournament off with the easiest fighter of all six. I hate to say it, but Green is every bit as credible as Taylor, and has no less of a chance against Ward than Taylor did.

He badmouthed the tournament, he was never going to be invited. Plus, he isnt ranked at 168

Not trashing Kelly at all, but there was no way he was going to be invited, not unless he campaigned to get in and asked

STFU. Abraham got Taylor didn't he? Jermain is a good athlete but not a great boxer.

Carl has great heart and determination. He is hardly a gifted athlete in any sense of the word.

LMAO .. so you really don't know anything about boxing huh? Whatever short comings may exist in Green it is obvious that his skill level is not below the modest abilities of Kessler and Froch.

Take it from one who said before the fight that Ward would beat Kessler ... Green is easily on par with Kessler, Froch, and Taylor's skill level so it doesn't change anything in the comp other than Green will probably get the short end of the stick if someone has to travel.

Green is a better boxer than Taylor (and not a fighter worn down by two fights with the ancient but skilled BHOP, a struggle against Wright, two struggles with Pavlik, a late stoppage by Froch, and a KO by Abraham) so it is actually a more difficult contest for Ward now.

What is a pity is that Green starts against Ward and not Kessler. Green is the one getting the tough road to hoe.

Tough to disagree. Still, I didn't say I'd pick Green over Froch, just that he matches up well stylewise. Then again, it's hard to imagine Green being able to stand up to that kind of pressure over 12 rounds. Froch and Kessler are the two that I believe Green has the best shots at.

Taylor had accomplished so much more than Green. He beat Hopkins twice for crissakes. Who has Green beaten?

Green is so skillful that he got outpointed by crude Edison Miranda!

Froch and Kessler will both KO Green.

Mark my words, Green will lose all his Super Six fights.

Green cut weight to make the 162 limit, and had to get 85% of his colon removed a few months later.

He had never looked that bad before, nor has he ever looked that bad again. It was obvious that night that he wasnt his normal self.

I think he will surprise people in the Super 6. He is a better match for Ward than Taylor was

It seems Bika pulled out of a box off for the tournament with Green. I don't know anything about the negotiations but that seems like a bad move on Bika's part. I think Alan Green gets in because Bika passed, he's a DiBella fighter, and he's been on Showtime a few times. He's a logical and solid choice actualy.

At this point Green is probably every bit as dangerous as Taylor, who seems to be slipping and will probably be better off taking some time off. If Green is on he's not an easy night for any of the other tournament fighters, but I think he's a huge underdog to win the whole thing. Pavlik and Bute would have been better and more exciting choices but Green isn't bad.

Don't be so sure that Froch and Kessler wouldn't get outpointed by Miranda too. Miranda looked better against Ward than Kessler did, for starters.

I find it very hard to envision Miranda beating Froch or Kessler, unless they have an off night.

Styles make fights. Kessler and Froch have excellent power and Miranda is there to be hit. Recall what Abraham and Pavlik did to Miranda. Ward does not have the same hitting power and therefore Miranda looked better against him.
