Im the only one who doesnt care about them having one more fight. Ive been saying for the longest that I think both sides honeslty want one more fight. I think Arum wants to milk Pac for atleast one more fight while his team would want one more confidence builder by destroying a guy like Peterson or Bradley. Meanwhile I maintain that Floyd's team is truly concerned about his inactivity. I think they feel like he can beat Pac & Sergio right now but would be sure of it without a doubt at all if Floyd had one more fight. They fear that he could lose just because of the inactivity and they wish the Ortiz fight had went longer. It suits both sides for later. I think Pac & Floyd want the fight but at the end of the year. Its just that the fans wont stand for it. Floyd is in a tricky situation. He could fight Pac or Sergio right now but the Southpaw thing makes it tricky. Thats why they want another fight. They would prefer a Southpaw and thats why Guerrero is in the mix. He's the only guy around the weight besides Sergio but again, they would rather have another fight before Pac or Sergio. They only need 1 more fight for those 2 guys. Anyone else and they can go straight to them because he has mastered his Defense against the righties. The other problem is the weight thing. Guys like Canelo, Cotto, & Sergio are at 154. I dont think Floyd has a problem about fighting at 154 but he doesnt want to do that if he has to come back to WW which he will to fight Pac & Khan. He'd rather finish the WW business and then go to 154. Thats why its all a lil screwed up. Both guys are trapped in the middle a lil, espically Floyd. It just feels better for both sides if its the end of the year. Both guys will be ready and everything will be set. As of now both guys will feel rushed and everything will be pressured up. Just like Pac fight Bradley and run through him in 4 rounds while Floyd either fights Guerrero for the Southpaw thing or a guy like Cotto or Canelo just for the bigger fight. Either way its a good setup to the final fight to end the year. I know most say that theyve been waiting forever and dont want to wait any longer but one fight wont kill you, espically if it means both guys feelingn more confident going in which I think they will be. They will be a few months older but they wont be any worst off then they are now. Again, I truly beleive both guys want the fight but next and they are both ready & mentally prepared for that. Most dont wanna see the Ghost fight and I dont think it willl happen but if it did then I wouldnt care. I look at the big picture. I just think that means Floyd will definitely fight Pac or Sergio next. No other reason to fight the Ghost and he would recieve crazy backlash if they didnt follow but I think he fights Canelo or Cotto. Sergio maybe but I doubt it. Also, alot of people think Pac looked bad or not the same against JMM. If he kills Bradley then that hypes the fight big time again. I think its a much bigger fight later in the year after both guys have impressive wins. Everyone will be ready, everyone will know its happening this time, and both guys will be now talking like its a sure thing
At least Floyd would fight 2 times this year but if he serves all 3 months he might not be ready to fight
I have a lot of damn money on this fight and I'm ready to collect. Perhaps you have nothing to lose, is why you don't mind. This is easy cash for me. I wish Arum would get his old ass out of the way and let the fight happen.
i'd like this time frame too because it will allow me to save some money and go see it. if it was in may i'd have to scrape every dollar i have.
If they'd sign now for Nov with interim fights in May/June then ok. But this talk of 'next time' is the sort of **** we have put up with for two years now.
No you're not the only one, and it's perfectly reasonable. But you hit the nail in the head. Most people just don't have the patience. Hell, most journalists don't have the patience and losing their objectivity. This ****'s been brewing since '09.
1. Floyds jailtime is not a guaranteed 3 months. He could be in 3 weeks less....or he could be in 2 months more. Hell he could be in for 6 months if things end up badly in there. 2. If I had to spend 3 months (maybe more, maybe less) in jail and then come out, I would definitely want to spend time with family/friends and catch up with lost time (instead of going straight to the gym). 3. After three months of training-inactivity whatsoever, one would probably need more time than usual to get to that same level of fitness as before. 4. Floyd's fight schedule is lately 1 fight a year. I guess he likes to keep 'fresh'. 5. "All roads lead to Floyd Mayweather. If I sign today, you better sign tomorrow. If you make any mistake, you have to pay. All work is easy work."
Well this has been going on for what, 3 years? Yeah, I don't mind waiting for these ****ers to have one more fight...:dead
Didn't read lol. I know who it's about though, when was the last time Floyd fought twice in a year? let alone when he has a ****ing prison sentence and counselling to deal with
Floyd shouldn't need any more tune-ups. If he comes out of jail and needs another, the fight will have passed it's optimal timing by much more. Neither fighter is getting any younger, and fans are tired of seeing ATG talent wasted. Pac needs to step up and pressure Arum, and Floyd needs to reach out as well and be reasonable.
